XDefiant was delayed again

This was uneventful news from Ubisoft, as the publisher decided to delay its upcoming free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, again.

After a public testing session, the developers found “inconsistencies in the game experience” that led the team to the difficult decision to delay the game.

He XDefiant’s official Twitter/X page uploaded an important message for everyone who is excited to see the game release. “The PTS once again showed us their appreciation for our fast-paced gunplay, uniquely designed maps, objective-based modes, and our iconic faction roster.”

“But there were also some inconsistencies in the game experience that we need to address before launching our preseason,” the message continued. “So we have made the difficult decision to delay the XDefiant preseason.”

These “inconsistencies” may be issues with the game’s overall balance, or there may be crucial elements of the main game that didn’t sit well with testers.

“The team will continue to work to address these issues and test them to ensure we meet our goal of being the best arcade shooter in its class. We will share more information about pre-season and testing as it arises.”

Last month it was revealed that XDefiant failed Microsoft and Sony’s certification test, and the game’s executive producer, Mark Rubin, expected it to be released in October.

However, note that the development team did not mention a new release window, which means it could be a while until we get a new update on the XDefiant release date.
