Xbox head Phil Spencer has apologized for a very disappointing release of Redfall and promised that the developers continue to work on the game.

This week, Bethesda released its first big Xbox exclusive in hopes of raking in some big revenue. Unfortunately, the launch came with a lot of problems that prevented them from getting the numbers they needed and soon it quickly failed with many players complaining online.

Spencer recently spoke with Kinda fun games to talk about the upcoming release of the game. He stated that Xbox did not expect such a negative reception for the game when it was released. He says that some of the reviews are mock internal reviews that could have been rated higher.

The Xbox boss also said that if the game was delayed any further, the developers would have solved their biggest problems today.

“There is nothing harder for me than letting the Xbox community down,” Spencer said. “I’ve been a part of this for a long time. Obviously I work at Xbox, I’m the head of the business, I have a lot of friends and I get a lot of feedback, and just to see the community lose trust, I’m disappointed, I’m disappointed, I’m upset with myself.”

Spencer blames himself for releasing the game at least because of the money players used to purchase it, which was $70. He knows that they will be responsible for this action-packed experience.

Redfall is out now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
