A new statement has revealed that EA and Koei Tecmo’s upcoming video game Wild Hearts will have free post-launch content and great news for all gamers.
Wild Hearts executive producer Lewis Harvey recently participated in a Reddit AMA session revealing many details about the game. He was asked what players can expect in terms of in-game monetization.
Wild Hearts has free post-launch content and no microtransactions
“All post-launch content will be free, including the new Kemono and more,” he replied. “We don’t have any plans to include microtransactions.”
For reference, Kemono are the big monsters in the game that players have to hunt in groups.
Play alone and offline with the Post-Campaign
Other than that, Harvey revealed more details about the game, such as playing solo. It can be done completely offline, he said, and there will be a post-campaign ending with more powerful Kemono to fight. More Kemono will be added in the form of post-launch updates that will be free to download.
Performance and quality modes
Harvey has confirmed that the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Wild Hearts will offer a default performance mode. This mode will have 1080p and 60fps, while the other optional quality mode will have up to 4K and 30fps.
Other details
Aside from those details, Harvey revealed that there are no female-specific armors in the game at launch, which could mean there will be some in future updates. It was also confirmed that the game is not compatible with Steam Deck for now. It might be supported in the future, but they don’t have an ETA on it.

Wild Hearts launches on February 17, 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
