black adam it has Easter Eggs, references, and cameos from more than a few DC concepts and characters. One cameo, in particular, has been the talk of the town, but another has gone relatively unnoticed. Unfortunately, that’s mostly down to how the movie handled it.
Emilia Harcourt was a DC Comics character who was brought into the DC Universe in the 2021 film the suicide squad before appearing in Pacifier cleave. Unfortunately, her role in black adam It’s minute at best and returns your character development. This is how the brief cameo of him in the film was much less crowd-pleasing.
Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt was barely in Black Adam
In the third act, Black Adam decides he doesn’t deserve his powers and agrees to turn mortal and become a prisoner of the Justice Society. Taking him away from Kahndaq, the JSA sends him to an Arctic black site for Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad. It was on Amanda Waller’s orders, as she hoped the Carter Hall team would be enough to contain him. Oddly enough, it’s not Waller who’s there to meet Dr. Fate and Hawkman as they leave the now-mortal Teth-Adam.
Instead, they are greeted by Harcourt, who comments on how the so-called gods are always buried by mortals. But after saying this and taking out the pinned Adam, she left. Those who haven’t seen the most recent entries in the DCU may be confused as to whether the character is someone of importance. even those who saw the suicide squad Harcourt would probably be hard to remember, especially given how much he sounds like Waller during the interaction. That leads to the scene’s biggest problem regarding Harcourt’s character.
Emilia Harcourt is just Amanda Waller’s lackey in Black Adam
During the climax of the suicide squad, Harcourt, and other pencil dealers who control Task Force X deliberately disobey Waller’s orders. She saw her essentially demoted and sent to work with another team, and she eventually crossed paths with Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker again. The two begrudgingly forged a friendship, though after an injury in battle, she returned to work at ARGUS with Waller. Sadly, that return to her old job has whittled Harcourt down in terms of her character.
In his minute role in black adam, Harcourt is apparently just another loyal foot soldier to Waller, despite his apparent distaste for her. In fact, she seems just as sarcastically controlling as Waller herself, making it hard to see her as someone who had previously turned on her. Again, that creates the feeling that she’s just a generic agent of some kind, disappearing into the movie as if she didn’t have two leading roles beforehand. Most likely, this could be the fate of her character from now on, since she only has a minor role in the DCU. Sure, there’s a chance she’ll retain a major role in the second season of Pacifierbut black adam definitely decreased it.
