Where to find Bagon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Bagon is a Dragon-type Pokémon first introduced in Hoenn. It evolves into Shelgon at level 30 and then the powerful Salamence at level 50. If you’re a trainer looking to add Salamence to your lineup, this is where you can find Bagon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The earliest you can meet Bagon is in a cave somewhere on these cliffs near Alfornada. These Bagons will be around level 16 to 20. You don’t need to enter the cave leading to Alfornada (this is the one with Pokemon above level 30).

From Contondo, head southwest until you see a bridge leading to West Province (area one). From the gas stop Western Province Pokémon Center (Area One)to travel North. Allow yourself to fall to the easternmost piece of land and climb back up. Naturally, you should go through a cave full of Bagons and Gibles. They’re not the “rare” Pokémon the Pokédex says they are around here!

However, if you want to know the Bagon habitat profile, here it is:

Bagons is born with an ability called Rock Head. This prevents this species from taking recoil damage. But once it evolves into Salamence, Rock Head will switch to Intimidate, which reduces the attack of opposing Pokémon when sent out. Intimidate, coupled with the great type of Salamence (Dragon/Flying), makes it one of the best options for Victory Road. With the right nature and moveset, you can even take it into PvP and win a couple of battles.
