Titans Has Its First Pregnancy


Titans Season 4, Episode 5, “Inside Man,” sees a member of the titular superhero team from the HBO Max series become pregnant under shocking circumstances.


The following contains spoilers for Titans Season 4, Episode 5, “Inside Man,” now streaming on HBO Max.

titansThe latest episode just featured the HBO Max series’ first pregnancy, and Conner Kent/Superboy (Joshua Orpin) isn’t happy about it.


That’s not surprising either, considering it’s Superboy himself who ends up with a bun in the oven in Season 4, Episode 5, “Inside Man.” The catalyst for this shocking development is the injury Conner sustained in the previous episode, “Super Super Mart,” which apparently imbued him with a mystical snake. Mother Mayhem (Franka Potente) manages to briefly control Conner through the snake, however, her teammates intervene and immobilize him. Conner’s belly then begins to swell, before the team targets the snake with a sentient virus, causing Conner to be “born” from its mouth.

Superboy was previously shown vomiting another snake in “Super Super Mart,” which also established that the young superhero shares one of Superman’s greatest weaknesses: magic. This becomes clear after a zombified version of the Titans’ legendary adversary, Deathstroke, manages to penetrate Conner’s invulnerable skin. While this would normally be impossible, the mystical energies associated with Deathstroke’s undead form dramatically increased the effectiveness of his attack. Conner’s vulnerability to magical hints with existing ones titans canon, in which he is a clone of Superman and Lex Luthor.


Will Superman appear in Titans?

One of Superboy’s genetic donors has already appeared on titans, as Titus Welliver made a guest appearance as Luthor in the first episode of the fourth season. Fans continue to clamor for Conner’s other surrogate father to appear on the show as well, something showrunner Greg Walker insists could happen one day. “[W]I would love to, and I think that’s a story that our show often deals with. [which is] fathers and sons,” Walker said, about the potential of Superman titans debut. “It sounds like it would be quite an achievement to be able to do it, and we could really do a lot with it if we get it done.”

Walker also recommended that fans “watch out” for references to Superman throughout the rest of the season. titans Season 4. That being said, the Man of Steel isn’t the only DC Comics character to make fun of the latest episodes of the show. Episodes 3 and 5 feature nods to John Constantine, confirming that the fan-favorite sleuth and con man exists within. titans continuity.
