Microsoft will release a new version of the Xbox home screen for testers this week in a new post.
Microsoft has recently been experimenting with various changes to the Xbox home screen consoles for many months and this time a new updated version has just been revealed. This new skin will be released to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha groups later this week. The new updated version is said to have been based on feedback from previous tests.
“Starting this week, users of the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings will be able to preview a new version of their in-home experience,” said Ivy Krislov, senior product manager. “This updated design incorporates the feedback we’ve heard from you along with all the learnings from our previous experiments.”
These are the new contents that the latest version will include:
- It provides easy navigation to your Library, Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass, Search, and Settings at the top of your Start by introducing a new quick access menu.
- Simplify the layout and make more room for you to see the background by reducing the size of some of the tiles and moving them to the bottom of the screen.
- Adds a responsive game art feature to update the default background and display the beautiful art associated with each title when you hover over the tiles.
This will only be available on Xbox Insider for now, but could be released later after testing.
