The new The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt patch includes various fixes

CD Projekt RED has released the latest The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt patch notes for Patch 4.03 before its official release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

Patch 4.03, the latest patch for the game, is already rolling out and will soon be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. There is no timetable, but it could take at most one day to come out. This will include a lot of gameplay fixes and quests that the game needs.

The Nintendo Switch version will receive it much later, according to CPDR, in the coming months. It will take a while, so this new announcement will be good news for Switch players.

The previous Nintendo Switch save file integration with Steam and GOG clouds has now been superseded. This will now be updated with the next patch with the new Cross Progression system that was introduced to other platforms in patch 4.00. This will need a GOG account to work.

Players can now play on Nintendo Switch and then transfer on PC, PS4, PS5, or any other platform they like as long as they’re connected to a GOG account.

Check out the full patch notes below:

  • Fixed an issue with shadows from ray-traced vegetation “popping”, based on proximity and angle to Geralt.
  • Fixed an issue where repeatedly turning reflections and ray traced shadows off and on could cause black shadows to appear on the edges of objects.
  • Fixed issue where the DirectX 11 version of the game could crash on launch or after loading a save game on certain AMD GPUs.
  • Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling, an enhancement technology that uses machine learning to improve performance and image quality.
  • Fixed some lighting issues with screen space reflections when ray-traced global illumination is turned off.
  • Performance improvements for ray-traced global illumination and ray-traced reflections.
  • Fixed an issue where purple splashes could appear on the screen when riding Roach through puddles of water.

  • The Cross Progression popup will now correctly display which account is logged in.
  • Fixed an issue where dark streaks or shadows would appear on Geralt in the inventory screen when performance mode was enabled on PlayStation 5.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could freeze or briefly stutter when autosaving on next-gen consoles.
  • Fixed issue with performance drops on next-gen consoles when using Witcher Senses in Beauclair and Novigrad.

VISUAL: exclusive for PC and next generation

  • Fixed an issue where a grid of light points could appear on the floor and walls in certain weather conditions with Ray Tracing enabled.
  • Spider webs will no longer change color when moving the camera with Ray Tracing enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where some textures on characters during cutscenes would appear as completely unrendered.
  • Through time and space – Fixed an issue where the fog in Poisoned Valley was pink instead of white.

MISSIONS AND GAMEPLAY: Exclusive to PC and next generation

  • Added community made mod. Next-gen scripting fixes by Sergeanur.

MISSIONS AND GAMEPLAY: Available on all platforms

  • In the Shadow of Eternal Fire – Mission background music will no longer continue to play after mission completion. For players who have already experienced this issue, it may be necessary to enter the Novigrad or Oxenfurt sewers again to resolve it.
  • Added an option to automatically apply oils in combat.
  • With the exception of potions and decoctions, it is now impossible for Geralt to eat or drink underwater. // While the team agreed that it might be possible to drink liquids from a corked flask, consuming pints of beer or grilled meats underwater is too much of a stretch.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is out now for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
