Spider Society Fit in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe?

The first of probably many live-action Spiderman shows has received a new title, with Silk: Spider Society focusing on one of the newest characters in Spiderman comic books. Silk is one of many Spider-Man-adjacent heroes and villains that Sony owns the rights to, and his deal with Marvel gives them more than 900 characters. However, given the nature of this deal, the biggest question about the series is what Spiderman Movie series to which it connects.

There are three officers Spiderman cinematic universes, one of which is in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s also the much more amorphous Sony Spiderman Universe, which so far includes the Poison movies and Morbius. Considering what happened in these previous movies, along with Sony’s own statements, here’s what the continuity Silk: Spider Society He’s prepared.

Silk: Spider Society Hints It’s Not Connected To The MCU Spider-Man

Though some fans may not realize it, Silk has already made her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tiffany Espensen played the character of Cindy Moon in Spiderman: Homecoming, in which she was a classmate of Peter Parker. Espensen had a minor cameo in avengers: infinity warand stock footage for the character is also used in the extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, since then, she hasn’t had much of a role, and her character thus far suggests that she might not become Silk in the MCU.

In the comics, the spider that bites Peter Parker and gives him his powers quickly bites Cindy Moon and grants her similar abilities. However, it would seem that in the MCU, Moon doesn’t have any powers, and another radioactive spider that comes just to bite would be incredibly artificial. Synopsis of the series Term claims that the show has Moon escaping imprisonment to find his family, and this doesn’t align with the Marvel Cinematic Universe either. This would suggest that Silk: Spider Society is in continuity with the Sam Raimi Spiderman movies or the Marc Webb amazing spider man movies, although Sony’s own words confirm another option.

Silk: Spider Society is in the same continuity as Venom and Morbius

The recent announcement of the Silk The show’s new subtitle came with the statement that it is set in “the Sony Pictures universe.” Of course, there hasn’t been a definitive quote from Sony staff as to where it takes place alongside the events of Poison, Venom: Let There Be Carnage either Morbius, but being in the Sony Pictures Universe implies being in the same continuity as those movies. The same is likely to happen with all procedures.”Spiderman“Live-action shows, though this doesn’t fix Sony’s Spider-Verse’s biggest problem.

Until now, there has been no official Spider-Man in this world, with mere hints and Easter eggs thrown in terms of his existence. Many fans insist that this world is the same one inhabited by Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker in the amazing spider man movies, although there are elements in the Poison film in particular that contradict this theory. the subtitle spider society suggests that the Silk The series can finally fix this by existing at a time when Spider-Man himself is firmly and publicly known. Since the next poison 3 is supposedly the final entry, it is unknown if Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock or even Jared Leto’s Morbius will appear in Silk: Spider Societybut it looks like Sony is getting closer to actually establishing a real live-action Spider-Verse.
