RoboCop: Rogue City has multiple endings decided by the decisions you have made throughout the campaign. Being an interquel that unites RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, Rogue City responds to much of what happens between the two films. However, much of what happens is actually under your control.

In this article, I will explain each of the RoboCop: Rogue City endings and what happens in them. Not just the big decisions, like what to do with the Old Man in the end, but also what happens to supporting characters like Ulysses Washington and Samantha Ortiz. Beware of major spoilers since we’re talking about the ending.

There are multiple variants of the different endings of RoboCop: Rogue City. You can unlock a specific ending depending on the decisions you have made. When it comes to both the main story quests and side quests, there are different fates that await each character.

Save the old man or let him die Finale

The last choice you will make in RoboCop: Rogue City. After the final boss fight, RoboCop will decide whether to save the Old Man, let him die, or kill him. Here is the result of each election:

What happens if you save the Old Man?

Saving the Old Man is the good ending of Robocop: Rogue City and the best choice. RoboCop has a moment of humanity as he musters the strength to push the Old Man’s debris away. He succeeds and the Old Man manages to get up. However, other debris approaches RoboCop and the Old Man returns the favor by pushing him out of the way and being crushed by the debris.

This choice reflects that no matter what you choose, the Old Man is crushed to death. It’s simply the symbolic nature of this ending that shows the humanity there is in both Murphy and the Old Man. Despite the metallic exterior, there is the soul of what makes them human beings.

What happens if you let the Old Man die?

For everything he’s done, RoboCop looks at the Old Man with apathy. He turns to leave the ruined OCP building while the Old Man can only try to reach him in vain.

This choice is also symbolic and with a bit of irony. The Old Man spent his entire life working for OCP only for the building to act on his arrogance and crush him. He lived by OCP and died by OCP. However, this is reflected as a more robotic response to RoboCop, who suppresses his human nature.

What happens if you kill the Old Man?

Instead of just walking away, RoboCop rips out the cables that power the Old Man. He makes sure the Old Man is sacrificed forever.

The Old Man may not have been responsible for killing Murphy, but he had a hand in turning him into the Frankenstein machine he is today. Not only that, RoboCop discovers that the Old Man is the one who secretly finances Wendell who shot Lewis. This choice also represents a small part of the human side of RoboCop. Even if it’s just a more vengeful and spiteful side of his humanity.

What happens to the ending of Ulysses Washington?

Ulysses Washington is the new recruit assigned to guard RoboCop. However, his fellow officers often mistreat him because he comes from OCP. You have the opportunity to help him gain character and be accepted by his co-workers.

There are multiple opportunities in the game to support Ulysses. You will mainly be able to do this during the Field Training side quest and by telling the sergeant. Reed, whether you trust him or not. This will affect what happens to him in the end.

What happens if you help Ulysses?

If he continues to support Ulysses and tells Reed that he trusts him, Ulysses will remain in OCPD. The ending shows that Ulysses is happy as a police officer and that he has just saved his first animal from a restaurant by using them as ingredients.

This is without a doubt the best ending for Ulysses Washington. Not only does he earn the respect of his peers but he proves to be a capable police officer. He lives a happier life as a police officer than as a corporate shill working for OCP.

What happens if you don’t help Ulysses?

By not supporting Ulysses and telling Reed that you don’t trust him, Ulysses will eventually leave the OCPD. The ending shows Ulysses Washington as an OCP employee who saves the life of a police officer. However, he is in trouble for trying to steal said officer’s badge because he claims it was once his.

I’m not going to lie, this ending of Ulysses is equally sad and funny. He shows that even when he fails as a police officer, Ulysses is still a good guy. However, he clearly misses the life of a public servant, as his attempts to steal the officer’s badge prove somewhat comical.

What about Samantha Ortiz’s ending?

Depending on whether you helped intrepid reporter Samantha Ortiz on her side missions, the ending of the game will be affected. RoboCop can choose to arrest her for breaking the law or help her reveal the truth against OCP.

What happens if you help Samantha Ortiz?

Samantha will not reveal RoboCop’s malfunction near the end of the game and even gives him the only recording of it. However, Channel 9 incriminates her for collaborating with terrorists and trying to expose the OCP. It is evident that she loses her job.

There are many instances in the game where you will be tempted to arrest Samantha. But if you can persevere at it, she will eventually recover. Samantha will even protect RoboCop and apologize to him.

What happens if you don’t help Samantha Ortiz?

Samantha cannot prove her accusations against the OCP. However, she manages to land relatively well. Her ending makes her the host of Channel 9’s morning show.

It’s not the worst of fates considering what happens to the others. Being a morning show host isn’t a bad job, but Samantha is clearly destined for more. Unlike other journalists, it’s clear that Samantha wants to do what’s best for the people of Detroit. Even if she is antagonistic towards RoboCop.

What’s up with Pickles ending?

Pickles, who acts as Briggs’ informant, occasionally finds himself helping RoboCop. However, after a side mission where you help him find a movie only to discover that the Torch Heads hid money in the case, you must decide whether to let him keep the stolen money or accept it.

What happens when you take Pickles’ money?

Pickles manages to reform and finds work in the theater. He even addresses a hostage situation perpetuated by a former senator.

What happens if you let Pickles keep the money?

Letting Pickles keep the money leads to him being arrested later for trying to buy Nuke. At the end of RoboCop: Rogue City, Pickle overdoses on Nuke and morticians find stolen reptiles and watches inside his corpse.

What happens to Dr. Blanche’s ending?

After his malfunction at the beginning of the game, RoboCop is assigned a therapist named Dr. Olivia Blanche. Your responses to her will decide how she will defend RoboCop at the end of the game.

What happens if you support Dr. Blanche?

It is mentioned on Channel 9 news that Dr. Blanche can calm an ED-209 by keeping a cool head, which she learned from RoboCop. This prevents a deadly altercation that could have quickly turned ugly. Olivia Blanche even writes a book titled “How to Cope with Loss,” which is valuable to both humans and machines.

Considering that we are talking about an ED-209, being able to calmly defuse a situation is not an easy task. The good doctor learned to operate machines from her time with RoboCop.

What happens if you don’t support Dr. Blanche?

If you don’t support Dr. Blanche, the altercation in the parking lot unfortunately turns deadly when ED-209 knocks down a SunBlock 5000 model. Dr. Blanche witnesses everything and is clear that she does not trust the machines as agents of the law. .

What’s up with the mayor’s ending?

Election Day is near in Detroit, which means politicians will do anything to get elected. As the city’s hero, citizens naturally look to RoboCop for his opinion on who to support. The election of the mayor in this game has a significant impact on the ending of the game.

What happens if you support Kuzak?

Kuzak is elected mayor and promises to sue the OCP even if he has to use a “Japanese” lawyer to do so. However, despite needing RoboCop’s help to get re-elected, he distances himself from the OCPD officer and refuses to grant him human rights.

What happens if you support Mills?

Mills is elected mayor. However, since Delta City is ruled out, he quickly resigns and leaves Detroit to fend for itself. When things get bad, John Mills shows his true nature by fleeing despite promises to help the city of Detroit and even grant RoboCop his human rights.
