The Steam version of Resident Evil 4 Remake just received an update and it riled fans a bit.

Lately, some upcoming titles on Steam have been updated by their publishers, changing their release dates from a specific date to “Coming Soon”. One of those titles was the most anticipated game in 2023: Resident Evil 4 Remake. It was officially confirmed a few months ago that it would be released on March 24, 2023, and this sudden change has many fans worried.

“Is development still good?” “Did the game catch the ‘lag’ disease?” “What about our pre-orders?” were the majority of the statements read online after this rather sudden change in the PC platform. It was then quickly noted by some fans that the franchise’s official website and other social media accounts say it will still release on its announced date. It was later revealed that it wasn’t actually a delay because it had to do with Steam.

According to trust the terror, it was revealed that Valve recently changed how the Steam store would handle release dates. Their policy now is to allow publishers to list release dates as Coming Soon, instead of saying the specific date. Apart from Resident Evil 4 Remake, several other upcoming titles were affected as well. One of them is Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield.

So no, there’s no delay guys. It’s just Steam making sudden changes. We’re still playing RE4 Remake after two months!

Resident Evil 4 Remake will still be released on March 24, 2023. It will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It is not yet known if it will also come to Xbox One.
