Kinetic Games recently released a new Phasmophobia Tempest update for the popular horror online co-op game and one of them improves a very important thing in ghost hunting.

Phasmophobia Tempest update released.

The latest update has now hit Phasmophobia Online, introducing some additions, tons of improvements, changes, and more. One of the affected items is a crucifix, a very useful item to ward off ghosts before they jump out at you. The update improved on this and now everyone is brainstorming ways to weaponize this exciting feature.

When haunted, in an emergency, players can place a crucifix on the ground and it will create a small dome of added protection. The only problem is that it is quite small and the cross will dissolve after two uses. This item can be used to give players more time to complete optional quests and sometimes, it can be used to stop an entire base completely.

Before the update, throwing crucifixes is a bit of gameplay as players don’t know exactly where they will land. The latest update changed all that as it finally allowed him to see the thrower down to where he landed. It also allowed players to see a three-meter radius for added security.

Unfortunately, some nasty features came back into play. Fog is back again, which is a curse for some players as it confuses them easily. Now has sunrise weather, better rain, and now snow effects. The new custom difficulty system has been rebalanced and some major changes have been made to the mechanics.

From now until early January, you can participate in the Phasmophobia 2022 Holiday Event!

Custom difficulty

With the addition of custom difficulty, we’ve seen a lot of interesting, unique, and challenging games being created, but we’d like to redirect what custom games are for, and for several reasons:

  • We’d like the custom difficulty to be used primarily for fun and interesting games, with unique twists, like other games with a “custom games” mode, without worrying about how much you’re getting out of it.
  • It is very difficult to balance the rewards of each option so that there is a relevant and fair reward multiplier. Because of this, it’s incredibly quick to create games that are potentially easier or faster than their default difficulty counterparts but offer the same or even greater rewards, making the default modes redundant. They make
  • With our analytics and player data, we can see that the vast majority of players still play intermediate and professional.
  • Having a set reward per custom option makes them too fragile and limits what we can change for the default difficulties, or any future difficulties that we may add to the game. I want to add.
  • Finally, with the big changes coming with Progression 2.0, we’d like experience and money to be earned fairly for every player, and try to avoid bounty tactics if we can.

For these reasons, we are making the following changes to customization rewards:

  • An 80% reduction in custom difficulty will now apply to reward multipliers.

We know it’s a big change, but it should separate custom games into a challenge and fun mode, and keep the default difficulty as the primary path to character progression.
In the second part of this major update (Coming Soon TM), we’ll add something special for those who want a tougher challenge than Nightmare and something super special!

Note: Current and future challenges (such as the Apocalypse Challenge) will still be accessible in customization and will still award trophies for your collection.

Investigative bonus

To compensate for the above changes, we’re adding some extra rewards for playing well at the default difficulty, which will reward players with a keen eye for ghost identification.

We’ll also change the rewards for secondary objectives, to encourage players to complete the primary objective instead of ignoring each game.

  • Added “Payment” page to the journal.

Investigative bonus

  • If you can correctly identify the ghost and survive, you will double the money and experience earned for your primary and secondary objectives during this deal!

Perfect investigation bonus

  • If you manage to complete the above but also; Collect bones, and fill your journal with 3-star images, earning you extra money and experience on top of investigative bonuses!
  • Secondary objectives have their rewards reduced to make way for investigation bonuses.
