Overwatch 2 latest patch summary
The latest patch is out now on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Players are treated to a new seasonal mode called Battle for Olympus FFA. This is a free deathmatch mode where players become powerful gods and monsters from Greek mythology who gain unique divine powers. Win them all to earn limited-time voice lines and player titles.
The update also introduces changes to the career profile, competitive play, and more. There are also multiple hero updates for different characters.

General updates
Career Profile
- Game reports for completed matches in the History tab will be consistent across sessions and reset between patches instead of every session.
- The 2023 season of competitive Capture the Flag will begin on January 10th and can be found in the competitive play menu.
- The competitive play loading screen has been updated.

Adrenaline Rush (Passive)
- Now for the rest of the wound damage when an enemy dies from wounds on them.
Massacre
- Cooldown is now reduced to 2 seconds for each enemy it affects.
Engraved blade
- Throw damage reduced from 80 to 50.
- Thrown direct effects now deal 30 damage to the trapped target. A quick melee or jagged blade hits piles of wounds.
Soraya
energy (passive)
- Energy decay decreased from 2.2 to 2 per second.
- The delay before energy decay increases to 1 to 2 seconds after energy gain.
Brexit

- Health increased from 250 to 300
Moira
Biotic Orb
- Dealing damage with Biotic Orb now restores a small amount of Biotic Energy.
- Fixed a bug with souvenirs being incorrectly placed on Ramatra.
- Fixed an issue with Kiriko’s Ofoda displaying black textures during her vortex emotes
- Fixed an issue with Rapper’s animation when removing his ‘take a knee’ emote
- Fixed an issue with the ability to float (turrets, mines) after being destroyed by the destructible environment they were placed on.
- Fixed an issue that resulted in some users seeing a black screen as their main menu background
- Fixed an issue that caused “Group Up” to say “I’m on my way” in unintended situations.
- Fixed an issue on some consoles that resulted in blurry graphics.
- Fixed an issue where some players were unable to invite on certain consoles.
- Fixed some performance issues in the Hero Gallery on console platforms.
- Fixed an issue where daily challenges were not happening for some users.
- Fixed an issue where the end-of-game ‘draw’ text would not be visible to players if the colorblind setting was enabled.
- Fixed an issue with ‘Invite to Custom Game’ not appearing as an option in the Social menu.

- Fixed some areas that allow players to escape map boundaries.
Shambhala Monastery
- Fixed some areas where players could get stuck.
- Fixed some areas where certain abilities could be ‘eaten’ by the environment.
- Fixed lighting and geometry in multiple map areas

- Fixed an issue where Bastion’s sound effects could loop at the point of death.
- Fixed an issue where the entire Bastion screen would turn yellow when fixed by the Brigitte Repair Pack.
Craco
- Fixed a bug with SwiftStep in Capture the Flag that would send the flag to the location where the ability was activated.
mercy
- Fixed Mercy’s Guardian Angel sometimes allowing her to escape Ramatra’s Raven’s Vortex
Ramatra
- Fixed an issue with missing assets on Ramatra’s hero info page.
- Fixed an issue with Ramatra’s primary fire effects not displaying the correct amount of projectiles for other players.
- Ramattra should now play rumble effects on gamepads/controllers
- Ramatra can no longer have more than one barrier active at a time. Note: This cannot happen in standard modes, only custom game or low cooldown modes
Tracer
- Fixed an issue where the Pulse Bomb would not damage Tracer if it was ‘stuck’ with an enemy.
