The creative director of The Last of Us has seemingly denied some of the leaks circulating online.
A new rumor has just recently claimed that the controversial sequel The Last of Us Part II is getting a remake of the TLOU2 Director’s Cut. That said, it will include some additional content and enhancements that weren’t in the PS4 version. Also, the source comes from the same person who leaked The Last of You Part I right before it was publicly announced.
This particular rumor may have just struck a nerve with Naughty Dog, as its co-president and creative director of The Last of Us, Neil Druckman, posted an interesting new message online. He recently posted on his Personal Twitter account Happy New Year everyone and thank you all for your support. He also promised that the team will announce a lot of “cool stuff” this year.
In a postscript, Druckmann cautioned about some insider information. “Most of it is a lie, which means it can’t be trusted,” he said. While he didn’t specify which rumors he was talking about, we can already guess which ones.
This will definitely be the TLOU2 director’s cut, and the other is rumored to be The Last of You Part 3 in development.
Fun Fact: Most of the rumors and leaks about many Naughty Dog games came true. The biggest leak before The Last of You Part 2 was released into the wild was about spoiler-filled information. So if Druckmann is trying so hard to deny these rumors, that would mean he’s probably hiding something. We’ll just have to wait in the coming weeks.
