A look at the patch notes

First up, this new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart patch has resolved a crash that occurred solely on Linux systems. This bug occurred during the start-up on Linux PCs or configurations where NVIDIA Streamline wasn’t active. But, this problem is now in the past and won’t bother players any longer following update v.1.815.0.0. Moving on, this patch has also addressed some other crashes in the game.

As per the patch notes, the bugs that were affecting only a small number of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart players on certain hardware have now been rectified and won’t be a nuisance anymore. Next up, this new update has also fixed the incorrect prompt display that occurred when you used an Xbox controller. When you tried to access the Chain Select option at Mrs. Zurkon while using an Xbox device, the prompt display was incorrect.

However, this new patch has made this issue a thing of the past in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Furthermore, update v.1.815.0.0 has addressed the bug that was causing a visual jitter on water bodies in the third-person platform shooting video game. Moving forwards, you won’t see the jitter effect on puddles or any other water body in the Insomniac Games title.

Last but not least, the user interface has also received an upgrade in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart through this update. As per the patch notes, there are “various” UI improvements in update v.1.815.0.0 in addition to several bug fixes. Many issues related to the Photo Mode, in-game menus, and other popups have been addressed and removed from the game via this new patch.

Since its release in June 2021, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has been hailed as one of the best showcases of PlayStation 5’s abilities and superiority over last-gen consoles. Developed by Insomniac Games, the platform game was considered a technical marvel, allowing you to travel between worlds instantaneously without any loading screens by utilizing the console’s SSD.

Supported by beautiful visuals, amazing combat, and an emotional story, The Insomniac Games title Apart was a big success for Sony, selling over one million copies by July 2021, only a month after its release. The game earned several awards and was nominated for many others including the Game of the Year at 2021’s Game Awards. Seeing all this success, the Japanese company put a PC version of the title in development at Nixxes Software.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart released on PC just recently at the end of July, and has since received continuous support on the platform. Even though its early performance hasn’t been groundbreaking, the game will hopefully continue to move units with consistent post-launch updates.
