Blizzard has recently revealed new details about the Diablo IV post-launch ‘Experience’, including Season 1, Battle Pass and Store Content.
On the official Blizzard website, Blizzard shared new details about the post-launch “experience” of Diablo IV. Seasons will appear on a quarterly basis and will offer new features, questlines, items, and balance changes. Players will need to complete the main campaign first before tackling the new season.
Season 1 will begin in mid to late July 2023. This will give players time to complete the campaign before Season 1 begins.
Blizzard says that players are encouraged to “start their search for Lilith early” so they can jump into Season 1 when it launches.
After Season 1 launches, players will be able to access the Season Journey screen. It will give you details about the new content available and explain the objectives that need to be completed to get the rewards for each season.
Each season will have a new battle pass introduced. It will contain 27 free levels and 63 premium levels. The free levels will include cosmetics and ‘smoldering ashes’. The latter can be used in Season Blessings, which offers XP, Gold, and Obol bonuses.
Blizzard clarifies that the premium tiers will not offer any in-game power-ups. Instead, it will offer unique cosmetics only available in that season with Platinum. Platinum is a premium in-game currency and can be purchased for real money. It can be spent in the Shop to obtain cosmetic items or purchase future Battle Passes.
Premium Battle Pass will cost 1000 Platinum, which according to Blizzard is $9.99. There is also a Fast Track Battle Pass which is priced at 2800 Platinum (approximately $24.99) which has 20 tier skips and a special cosmetic to get.
The Shop will only provide cosmetics and, in bold, WILL NOT HAVE ITEMS THAT OFFER STATS INCREASE. All cosmetics available in the Shop will cost Platinum. There will be cosmetics that are unique to specific classes and will rotate on a constant basis.
Diablo IV launches on June 6, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
