A new leak has surfaced for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 , hinting that the opening of the game will feature one of Spidey’s legendary foes, the Sandman. The details come from some clips that were posted on Imgur, showing the two Spider-Men swinging around a sprawling New York.

This is a good game Insomniac.

While there aren’t any major spoilers in the leak, the clip shows Peter talking to himself as he maneuvers around the map. Elaborating on his current situation, he says, “My suit is sandy in all the wrong places. It may be time for a change.“Under normal circumstances, this dialogue would feel unusual but due to hints from the first game and subsequent leaks, we can assume that Sandman could be the opening act of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

And that’s not all about this leak. Another interesting thing here is how much Miles Morales has grown since the events of Spider-Man. PS4 And his own standalone adventure. Despite training under Peter throughout The city that never sleeps A few months before the DLC and the events of his game, Morales could not jump as high as Peter using Charged Jump with maximum power.

The first clip shows how this has changed, with Miles now able to jump over modest-sized buildings in just one jump. It’s often said that Spider-Man (Peter) was astronomically strong for a 15-year-old and that age would only get him higher. Although this may seem unusual from a gameplay perspective, perhaps Insomnia Tried to illustrate this with Miles using Charged Jump as an example.

Another thing worth talking about is one of the web swinging animations in the first clip. Near the end of this footage, Miles performs a mid-swing that looks very familiar from one of the swing modes animations for the first two games. Additionally, it looks like Miles was using his web line to climb up, a mechanic we had in Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man. This is just me reading too much into things or maybe Insomniac will eventually deliver on this front as well.

Finally, traversal seems to have been improved even more. Earlier this year, we got our first look at the gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 . It featured a great web slingshot mechanic, which gave us great momentum. While initially the locations where you could perform this move were limited, now you can do it from anywhere as long as you are on solid ground. Web swinging in general appears to be more difficult because it demands more control to avoid collisions and speed gaps.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20, 2023, exclusively SonyOf PlayStation 5.
