In an exclusive interview with Nintendo everything, Mario Rabbids Director David Soliani expressed a keen interest in seizing the opportunity to develop a new Rayman game and considered it the ultimate potential from a developer’s perspective. His previous involvement in developing the Game Boy Color version of the game in 2000 further fueled his interest in the project.

If I get the chance, I’d be mad not to take it. To be honest, yes. I mean, Rayman is the type of game that doesn’t have any realistic elements. And since there is no realism, everything you create in the game comes from your imagination and the imagination of the team. And so, (everything) from the chair to the table, from the enemy to the environment, is a form of art, creating something from scratch. So to me as a developer, this is the culmination of all possibilities. You can go crazy and make your own stuff, like we did at Sparks of Hope. I think I’d be crazy not to jump at the chance if given the chance.

According to Soliani, Rayman is a game where everything is created by imagination, making it the ultimate creative experience for a developer. The lack of realism makes everything, from the objects to the environment, a creative expression and “a form of art”.
