Lurking Steel Titan location, Orthworm weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

orthworm – also known as the lurking steel titan – is one of the five Titan Pokémon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Orthworm needs to be discovered and defeated as part of the Path of Legends story in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Regardless of the order in which you take on the Titans, you’ll want to know more about Lurking Steel Titan’s location, as well as Orthworm’s weaknesses, especially if you’re approaching low level.

In this page:

Lurking Steel Titan Recommended Level

Before facing the lurking steel titan, we recommend you have a level team early 30s and over.

If you’re facing it before then, it’s highly recommended to focus on Orthworm’s weaknesses as a Steel-type.

Lurking Steel Titan Location

The Lurking Steel Titan is located east of Zapapico and northwest of Levincia in Area Three of the Oriental Province.

You can get there more easily by following the road that connects these two cities in this area. Once there, you will see it peeking, or lurking, as it were, out of the ground.

Explanation of the encounter with Lurking Steel

As with other Titans, there is some work before you can initially fight, as it will move places several times after your first encounter.

Once you’ve knocked his health down the first time, follow him back into the tunnel, where you’ll still need to chase him for a bit longer. Eventually, it will eat the grass.

It’s time to fight again, with Arven in tow, who comes equipped with a level 28 Toedscool.

Once the battle is over (see below for weaknesses if you want to easily get the upper hand), you will enter the cave and discover a Herba Mystica. This will unlock a new exploration ability for Koraidon or Miraidon: the high jump ability.

Our Pokemon Scarlet and Violet walkthrough can walk you through the entire game, including First Day of School, Victory Road, Starfall Street, and Path of Legends. Elsewhere we can help with version differences, the best Scarlet and Violet starter, learning how to fly, swim, climb and run, and how to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge.

Orthworm Weaknesses

Orthworm is a pure steel type, which means you’ll want counter with fire or fighting moves.

While you’d usually be correct in thinking that ground would also be useful against a Steel-type, Orthworm has an ability that causes ground moves to heal them, so it’s best to avoid them!

Once you’ve defeated this Titan Pokemon and gotten the Herba Mystica reward, our best Titan Pokemon order can recommend what to do next.
