Night Dive has finally announced that the System Shock remake is releasing soon! Or maybe not. Probably.
This is now the fifth time that remake developer Night Dive has shared a tentative release window for the System Shock remake. It has actually been in development for quite some time now since 2016. The devs made previous promises in 2017, 2018, 2020 and finally 2021. This year, he says it’s going to be different.
over it Kickstarter pagethe developers shared an update stating that things were different this time and are currently taking the last major steps before releasing the game.
“As some of you have already pointed out this is not the first time we have announced a tentative launch window, but a lot has changed over the past few years – the scope and scale of the project has dramatically changed. has been developed and is now active with Prime Matter joining the project. We are focused on quality of life improvements, bug fixing, and localization support – the last major step towards releasing a game that We are all incredibly proud,” said the devs. “It’s also given us time to go back and polish different aspects of the game that needed that extra polish.”
Based on the post, it looks like Night Dive has been very busy in development and the results speak for themselves.
Based on their track record, will Night Dive finally deliver a finished product that is a System Shock remake within the year? There are still doubters but this will be the perfect time to prove them all wrong and finally deliver what they promised.
A remake of System Shock is being considered for a March 2023 release on PC.
