Your bond level in Fire Emblem Engage is the ratio between your unit and the Emblem Ring they have equipped. The higher the Link Level, the more powerful the Emblem Ring becomes, massively increasing stats and allowing access to devastating moves that can turn the tide of combat. However, many players are experiencing some issues with increasing their link level as it can seem a bit slow.
This guide will show you how to raise the Link Level with Emblem Rings in Fire Emblem Engage.
How to raise the bonus level in Fire Emblem Engage?
Bonus levels can be increased by participating in certain activities in Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage. Here are the things you can do to increase your bonus levels:
- emblem training: Go to the Arena in Somniel and choose this option to have your unit train with the Emblem Ring. Unlike the regular variant, Emblem Training can be performed as many times as you like to increase your bond level. However, they do cost bonus shards to participate. Emblem Training can only be accessed after unlocking the Arena after Chapter 5.
- bond talks: Go to the Emblem Selection screen and select the portraits with yellow speech bubbles. This will trigger a scene where the hero of that Emblem Ring will speak to the unit. Subsequently, their Link Level will increase by 1.
- Polish emblem rings: Go to the Ring Chamber and choose the unit you want to polish a specific emblem ring. This will increase the bond level between that unit and that Emblem Ring.
Fire Emblem Engage pays homage to previous entries in the franchise by embodying the heroes of the past on the game’s twelve Emblem Rings. As the Divine Dragon, your task is to collect all twelve Crest Rings to defeat the Fallen Dragon that once threatened the entire world.
By increasing your bond level with these emblem rings, you’ll be rewarded with significant stat boosts as well as access to powerful abilities. There is no end to the potentially powerful builds each Emblem Ring has depending on which unit harnesses it.
Max Link Level Side Quests
Reaching link level 20 with any emblem ring will unlock a Paralogue quest that unlocks the maximum link level upon completion. Once you’ve reached Max Bond level, an Emblem Ring’s more powerful abilities are unlocked and that unit will have higher stat bonuses.
Parallels are optional missions that you can choose to tackle. When you’re at link level 20, the hero of an emblem ring will trigger a short scene that gives a bit of information about him and his world. You will then be challenged to a mock battle which must be successful in order to reach Max Bond level.
