Cinderace is one of the Gen 8 starter Pokémon that first appeared in Sword and Shield, and will now appear in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as a special 7-star Tera Raid encounter. It is also one of the few non-Gen 9 and non-Paldean Pokémon to join Scarlet and Violet after the previous 7-Star Charizard from the previous Tera Raid event.
In this guide, we will talk about ways to get sundresses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to get a Sundress in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
From Friday, December 30, 2022 (00:00 UTC) to Sunday, January 1, 2023 (23:59 UTC), you will have the opportunity to participate in the 7-Star Sundress Terra Raid event. During this event, you will be able to see a Tera Cave somewhere on your map that contains a 7-Star Cinderace that you can challenge and capture.
This sundress is special not only because it is a Lv. 100 one, but because it also has the dominant sign. Additionally, he has a Fighting Terratype so his Fighting-type moves will definitely pack a punch – or a kick. It will also have an excellent 6-IV stat.
This particular Sundress can only be captured once per save file, but you will still be allowed to participate in other 7-Star Sundress Tera raids for a chance to earn its rewards.
Make sure you have unlocked 6-star raids before starting this event so that 7-star Tera Cave appears on your map.
In addition to the above dates, this event will be replayed from Friday, January 13, 2023 (00:00 UTC) to Sunday, January 15, 2023 (23:59 UTC). The event is organized to celebrate the upcoming year 2023 as the Year of the Rabbit.
Can this sundress be used in breeding?
Based on the previous 7-star Charizard event, we can safely assume that this Sundress can be bred with other Pokemon as well. It can even be bred with Ditto to spawn eggs so you can get Scorby and Rabot in the game.
Will sundresses be banned from ranked battles?
Since Cinderace and its entire line are not included in the Paldean regional dex, we can also assume that they will be restricted from being used in competitive ranked battles, similar to Charizard and other exclusive non-Paldean Pokémon. It is the case.
Why isn’t 7-Star Sundress showing up on my map?
There could be a number of reasons why a 7-star sundress isn’t showing up on your map. Check these pointers to see what could be causing it:
- Your game has not been updated. Make sure you are connected to the internet and visit the in-game Poké Portal, then select the Receive Poké Portal News option to receive event updates.
- 7-Star Tera Cave can only be defeated once per day. You may have already completed one for the day, so you have to wait for the next day, or you can force them to restart by adjusting your Switch’s clock.
- 7-star raids can only be spawned when 6-star raids are unlocked. Check out our How to Unlock 6 Star Raids guide for more details on how to do this.
