How to evolve Rockruff into Midday Lycanroc in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

There are more than a few Pokemon that have special evolution requirements in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Some of these evolutions may be well known to veteran players. However, if you’re new to the series, it’s understandable why you might be confused when your Rockruff evolved into Midnight Lycanroc, and he looks like a dark, snarling mess. Here’s how to get Lycanroc’s other form, the Midday Form.

How to Get Lycanroc Midday Form in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The form Rockruff takes when it evolves depends on the time of day. If Rockruff reaches level 25 in the morning, he evolves into Lycanroc’s midday form. If it evolves during the night, Lycanroc will take its midnight form. So if you’re looking for a particular way, train a Rockruff around level 24, then wait for your desired time of day before it hits the last level. There is a third form of the Lycanroc, called the Dusk Form, but this form requires a special type of Rockruff to find.
