There is no more iconic Pokémon than Pikachu, often to the detriment of its Raichu evolution. Fans of the adorable yellow mouse can rest easy knowing that Pikachu is in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But they will need to evolve into Pikachu to keep the electric type viable in the later stages. This may leave you wondering how to evolve Pikachu into Raichu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to get a Raichu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To get a Raichu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to evolve Pikachu using a stone storm. You can’t evolve Pikachu by any other means, so you’ll need to look for a Thunder Stone. Fortunately, these can be purchased at the delibird presents shop after you have defeated three gym leaders.

Once you have a Thunder Stone, place Pikachu in your party and press X to bring up the main menu. Select Bag and then go to the tab represented by the candy icon – this is the Other Items tab. Scroll down and find the Thunder Stone, then press A to select it. Choose Use This Item and then select Pikachu. This will turn him into Raichu.
Raichu usually doesn’t learn moves upon leveling up, but can recall moves at any time to relearn old moves. This means that he doesn’t need to wait to evolve Pikachu until he has learned a good set of moves.
