The Pokémon series has had special evolution requirements for certain Pokémon since the beginning of Generation I. When a Pokémon from an older generation arrives in a newer game, such as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, generally the requirement to evolve remains the same. Misdreavus, a Generation II Pokemon, has had a special evolution since Generation IV, and you can use this method on Paldea. Here’s how to evolve Misdreavus into Mismagius.
How you can evolve Misdreavus to Mismagius in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To evolve Misdreavus into Mismagius you will need to use a Dusk Stone in that. This is the same item that Murkrow needs to evolve into Honchkrow. To use it, find the Dusk stone in the Other elements submenu of your bag. It is indicated by a candy icon at the top of the screen. Select it, select use this itemand then select Misdreavus.

Where to find a dusk stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
If you caught Misdreavus early on in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you may have to wait a while to evolve it. The Dusk Stones won’t actually be available until much later. You can occasionally find them available for sale at the Port Marinada market. Your other option is to travel to Montenevera and look behind Ryme’s Gym. There is a Dusk stone inside a red Pokebell there.
