Oh, did you think that just because the end of the world was near, Kratos and Atreus would be safe from the wandering warrior known as The Traveler? No no no. God of War Ragnarök goes all out and plays up some of the greatest hits from its predecessor. So when Kratos and Freya meet The Traveler in Midgard during the quest for The Word of Fate, you’ll be prepared.
How to defeat the Traveler in Midgard in God of War Ragnarök
The Traveler is a mini-boss who foolishly stands between Kratos and his target. Most of his attacks come in the form of large, sweeping horizontal swings of his sword. He can stop them, but we found it much easier to just dodge them. Unblockable attacks consist of thunderous stomps. Give him space to throw his tantrum and you’ll be fine.

Be sure to use Freya throughout the fight to keep him peppered with arrows that buff Kratos’ elemental damage and runic attacks. The fights in God of War Ragnarök are all about patience and waiting for your opening. So, take your time, learn the Traveler’s moves, and punish him when an opportunity comes along. Then when it’s time to run that glorious finisher, enjoy it.
