Many users who experienced the preview gameplay claim 35-40 hours of gameplay for the main storyline, which is yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless, this is an upgrade, as previous Harry Potter games only offered about 12 hours of gameplay. Hence, players will have ample time to discover the wizarding world.

100% Game Completion

The lead game designer, Alan Tew, revealed the game length to be 80 hours. It took him this small amount of time to complete the game, including all collectibles and achievements. Since he knows the complete ins and outs of the game, normal players would take around 100 hours to beat Hogwarts Legacy according to this benchmark. Very often, typical open-world games take about more than 100 hours.

Four Different Playthroughs

Hogwards Legacy offers 4 different storylines, each for a different house you choose, which eventually meet at the same end.

Main Quests And Sidequests

Some of the 150 sidequests are available at the beginning of the game, while some become accessible as you make progress in the game. This completely nullifies the rumor that all side quests all available to play in any order. Below are the leaked quests and sidequests we know so far

One of the main quests we know so far includes infiltrating and destabilizing a dragon in the fighting ring. Moreover, the Poppy Sweden quest is a side quest in which you have to take out some enemies with Poppy Sweden (character) in stealth mode. Furthermore, Hogwarts legacy contains time-consuming minigames like a lock-picking game in which you use a spell to initiate.

Hogwards legacy also contains over 100 puzzles that require a considerable amount of time to solve. It consumes the player’s skills and spells to solve.

Other Features

Apart from main and side quests, users need to find field guide pages, complete Room of Requirement challenges, perform combat, and do exploration tasks. Moreover, one of the leaks showed an achievement list that is 45 in number. Still, we are unsure if they will be unlocked automatically or do we have to complete some extra tasks.

PlayStation Exclusive Quests

PlayStation users have the edge over other platforms as they will have access to a series of exclusive quests, which include Classic RPG and dungeon exploration. For example, a player has to venture into a mannequin-filled basement inside Madame Mason’s rundown shop in Hogsmeade. These quests are relatively tough and require you to complete other side missions to succeed.

After taking into consideration everything we know so far about Hogwarts Legacy, we estimate the total game length of  Hogwarts Legacy to be 150 hours if you are a completionist. This will include all 100 main quests in 4 playthroughs, 150 side quests,  puzzles, and challenges.  Furthermore, if you want to speed run the game, focusing only on the main storyline, it will take up to 40 hours to beat Hogwarts Legacy.

Tips To Beat Hogwarts Legacy Faster

The rate at which you beat Hogwarts Legacy depends on a number of factors. First, the level of difficulty at which you are playing. We recommend you choose easy mode if you want to speed up your progress. Secondly, it depends on your command over combat skills.

Dueling with your enemies is not as easy as it seems; they are protected by a bubble shield which requires a specific spell to break. Moreover, wasted spells will make you wait for a 30-second cooldown before you can cast a spell again. Furthermore, you will eventually find unique tricks or glitches that allow you to speed up your progress in the game.

Most importantly, the main storyline will differ for each of the houses. Some storylines will have you visit iconic places like Azkaban.

Moreover, the story revolves around Goblin Rebellion in the 1800s, so you will have to deal with fantasies and beasts. The preview event organized by the developers showed that you start off as a 5th-year student, which you create from the character creator. With an intriguing story and glamorous voice action and cast, the game is set to take Harry Potter fans to a new level.

Recently, details from a leaked artbook gave a lot of glimpses of in-game menus, new characters, new rooms, maps, customization options, game length, and seasonal events that will be offered in Hogwarts Legacy.

The game will offer new teachers like Professor Daniel and Professor Mirabel Gaslick. It will also embed popular venues like Quidditch arena, Great Hall and Diagon Alley. Hogwarts Legacy will also include a customization menu that will allow players to dress up their characters concerning their robes, cloaks, flying mounts, etc. You can also pile up collectibles in your wardrobe as you progress through the game.

Also, popular spells like Aveda Kedavra will only be unlocked after completing a specific mission toward the end of the storyline. This makes perfect sense as this is the most important and dangerous spell.
