Honkai Star Rail: Aetherium Wars Event Guide


Aetherium Wars has officially begun for Honkai: Star Rail. This is an enemy event, the flagship of update 1.4, where you capture enemies and use them to fight other enemies in a tournament-style arena. In this guide, I’ll show you how to join the Aetherium Wars and everything you need to know about them.

From October 11 to November 13, 2023, Aetherium Wars will be available to all players who are at least Trailblaze level 34. Don’t miss the event to claim your exclusive rewards.

How to join Aetherium Wars

First you need to complete the Future Market 2 pioneer continuity mission before you can unlock Aetherium Wars. Then continue Come on! Etherium Wars! under the Interastral Tournament Festival in Adventure Missions to start the event.

Since Future Market 2 Trailblaze Continuance requires you to be at least Pioneer level 34 For starters, you can’t participate in Aetherium Wars until you’re at least that level. You must also complete Future Market 1, which takes place in Jarilo-VI, Administrative District.

If you’re not close to Trailblaze level 34 yet, you can still join Aetherium Wars even after the event is offered. You will eventually unlock Conventional Memories after completing Trailblaze Missions, where you can permanently access this event.

How to play Aetherium Wars

You can play the Aetherium Wars event by collecting Aether spirits and using them to fight other Aether spirits. These are replicas of the enemies you encounter in Honkai: The Normal Star Rail Story.

Collect Aether Spirits

Collecting ethereal spirits can be done in victory zones fighting and defeating them. Go to the Old Proving Ground and interact with the Aetherium Wars Player Terminal to see the list of available Victory Zones.

Types of ether spirits

There are three types of ethereal spirits: humanoid, Mechanicand Aberrant. Encounters are played like rock, paper, scissors, so you have to match up guys based on their strengths and weaknesses.

Note: Humanoids are weak against aberrants. but strong against the Mechanics. Mechanics are weak against humanoids. but strong against the aberrant. Aberrants are weak against mechanics. but strong against humanoids.

Enhance Ethereal Spirits

As you collect data by fighting other Aether Spirits in victory zones or hyperlink matches, you can spend this resource to level up. This gives them higher HP and ATK stats. However, some ether spirits can become powerful. Spirits of the Aether Overlord with enough levels. Your rivals in the tournament will also use them, which will make the competition tougher.

Unlock new victory zones

When you start Aetherium Wars, most other Victory Zones are locked. There are several Victoria Zone locations and each has its own Championship contenders and an Overlord Aether Spirit at the end. Defeat Championship Challengers and Overlord Aether Spirit to unlock new Victory Zones and earn rewards.

Hyperlink battles

After clearing the first Victory Zone, you will unlock Hyperlink Battles in the Aetherium Wars Player Terminal. Fight against named NPCs and their team of ethereal spirits to advance to the next level and obtain rewards.

Site of the Aetherium Wars

You can participate in most of the Interastral Tournament Festival at the Ancient Weapons Testing Ground. This location is unlocked after completing Future Market Trailblaze Continuance.

Aetherium Wars Walkthrough

The Aetherium Wars event takes place in multiple Adventure Missions. Here is a complete walkthrough of the event:

Come on! Etherium Wars!

The first mission is ‘Let’s go! Aetherium Wars!’. Talk to 7 de Marzo in Jarilo-IV, in front of the Administrative District. He then speaks to an NPC named Wilder in Rivet Town, who you can ask for more information about the Aetherium Wars.

Follow Wilder to the old weapons testing ground. You will enter a scene where you will meet a masked man named Giovanni. After a cutscene, you’ll enter your first confrontation, using Aether Spirits to fight for you against the Aether Spirits of the three IPC agents.

Embark! Corridor of fading echoes!

The next is the Embark! Corridor of fading echoes! mission, where you are introduced to Victory Zones and hyperlink battles. Continue the mission until you reach your first Victory Zone, Corridor of fading echoes.

It is here that Giovanni will explain the basics of capturing and enhancing ethereal spirits. After a quick tutorial, he will also find the Snow Glow Lamp puzzles here, three of them specifically, before you can continue on your way. Progress through the mission until you reach the Goethe Hotel to rest, where you will fight the three IPC agents again.

After the battle, you will unlock the purple light level of Hyperlink matches. You will fight against four other contestants from the Interastral Tournament Festival. As you continue fighting, you’ll unlock more difficult levels in Hyperlink matches against new opponents.

Go Cloudford!

The next mission takes place in the Cloudford Victory Zone. This victory zone introduces the Victory marking puzzle where you have to move the camera to align the broken image completely and then take a photo. Sometimes this can involve manipulating the environment so that both halves of the image match. There are three victory marking puzzles for this Victory Zone.

Battle of wits! Herta space station!

The next is The battle of wits! Herta space station! which takes place on the Herta space station. Here you will find the tile puzzles that you should already be familiar with. However, this time, there are black holes in certain tiles that teleport you. You just have to fill in all the tiles without having to step on a tile twice. There are four tile puzzles in this Victory Zone.

The Victory Zone of the Herta Space Station ends with a confrontation against Herta herself. Once the battle is over, she returns to the Goethe Hotel to speak with Wilder.

Shock! Great mine!

In Shock! Great mine! You will go to the Great Mine, which is the last Victory Zone before the championship. This is where you will be introduced to a new type of puzzle that involves controlling an Automation Spider to get it close to IPC employees before exploding. You can only use them once, so be sure to activate the explosion when enemies are nearby.

Final showdown! Intergalactic celebration!

Once all Victory Zones are completed, you will unlock the Final showdown! Intergalactic celebration! This is the last part of the Aetherium War event, where you will face notable characters for the championship title.

You will fight against six competitors: Luka, Guinaifen, Silver Wolf, Giovanni, Topaz and then Hook. Each of them has their own cinematic entries. After defeating them all, you will become the champion of the festival and unlock exhibition matches.

Aetherium Wars Rewards

By completing the Aetherium Wars event and becoming a champion, you will be able to receive these rewards:

Free 4-star Belobog character

By becoming the champion of the Interastral Tournament Festival, you gain a free choice of a 4-star Belobog character. You can choose between Serval, Pela, Luka and Hook.

By participating in the Interastral Tournament Festival, you can obtain these rewards for a limited time only:
