There are a lot of story maps in Fire Emblem Engage, like the skirmishes and Training Maps, that will allow the players to level up their units by earning a lot of XP. Skirmishes are optional maps that will allow players to train not only their units but also to get a lot of rewards. If the players are struggling with a particular challenge and finding it hard to complete and then they can always practice in skirmishes.

Key Highlights

  • Skirmishes are optional battles that appear randomly on the world map in Fire Emblem Engage.
  • The players will be able to form a lot of rewards like gold, XP, and different items by participating in this.
  • The players will also be able to increase the experience of their units and train them through these skirmishes.
  • There are different types of skirmishes, like standard skirmishes, silver-corrupted skirmishes, and gold-corrupted skirmishes.
  • The players will be able to reroll these skirmishes by manually setting their clocks one hour ahead through their system settings.
  •  In order to improve these skirmishes, the players will have to increase the Donation Level of that region.

What Are Skirmishes

When you are progressing through the main story in Fire Emblem Engage, you will notice that sometimes there will be some optional battles that pop up here and there on your World Map.

They are called Skirmishes, and they are very much like the Divine Paralogues. However, there is one major difference between them. In the Divine Paralogues, you will be able to obtain a lot of rare items, and you can even unlock a lot of characters.

On the other hand, you will only be able to earn simple rewards and train your units. Skirmishes can be accessed and viewed via the World Map. They are optional battles and won’t affect your main story. They are a great way to farm some rewards and level up your unit for more difficult battles in the game. Participation in these optional battles is not necessary. However, we do recommend taking on some skirmish challenges at the beginning of the game to level up your unit.

You will be able to access skirmishes through the world map by clicking on their icons. The enemies you will fight in these maps will be different as well. You won’t be able to participate in skirmishes from the get-go. The players will have to progress in the main story a bit before they will be able to access skirmishes.

How Do Skirmishes Work

The players will be able to access these missions after completing chapter 6 in the game. These skirmishes will only spawn in the areas you have visited before on the world map. They will spawn randomly and you will be able to access them by using Fast Travel Option.

You simply need to head towards this location, and you will be able to fight any enemies like the corrupted or the bandits in this location. These enemies are very similar to the usual ones you have fought so far. However, these enemy units are also random since it’s just for the sake of your unit training. You might also experience the fog of war even if you haven’t when cleared this area before.

Keep in mind that the donation level of the area where you are clearing a skirmish is an important factor too. If the donation level of a region is particularly high then the number of enemies and enemy units that spawn here will also increase, and they will be more powerful as well. Furthermore, you will also be able to farm more rewards if the donation level of the region is high.

By increasing the donation level, you will be able to farm more gold, and silver corrupted too. These corrupted skirmishes will be marked on the map like the skirmish icon with spikes. They will be in specific colors, so you will know what you can farm in that specific region.

You will be able to fast travel to these areas and access them via the fast travel menu. Skirmishes that are gold-corrupted will allow you to farm many Gold Corrupted Enemies and obtain money from them. So you can expect Alear’s wallet to be full after defeating these skirmishes.

On the other hand, when you visit regions that have a lot of silver-corrupted skirmishes for you to farm, you will be able to get a lot of Exp after defeating the Silver Corrupted. This Xp will help you strengthen your unit considerably.

Enemies In The Skirmish

While you will be able to check out the exact location of this skirmish just by looking at the map, you will also be able to determine the type of enemy you will be facing by simply observing the skirmish icon.

The skirmish icon will represent the type of enemy you will be facing on that map. For instance, if you see a Griffin on the icon then you will most probably be up against the Griffin knight in this region. Similarly, if you see an Archer then you will be up against a lot of Archers in this particular region of the skirmish map. So it is important not to use any flying characters in your battle.

You will be able to form a strategy before entering a skirmish map through these icons. Therefore skirmishes are a great way of testing your playable units and practicing different strategies for different battles. Not only will they allow you to train your units, but they will also allow you to farm several rewards in the game.

Training Maps

On the other hand, we have training maps that work similarly to skirmishes. Any of the Castle Maps that you have cleared from the main story will become a place for you to train. In this training map, you will be up against enemies that are actually the soldiers present in the castle.

Every unit that participates in these battles will get a boost in XP. Therefore, the players will be able to increase the stats of their Units in the game. These maps are great for players who are looking to increase the strength of their party quickly without it affecting their main story progress.

Types Of Skirmishes

There are three different types of skirmishes that you can access in Fire Emblem Engage. These are Standard, Silver Corrupted, And Gold Corrupted. Below you will see a detailed explanation of each one of them and the rewards that each skirmish will drop. Each of these skirmishes will drop different rewards, so it is important to know what makes them different.

Standard Skirmishes

These are the normal types of skirmishes with no special rewards or modifications. They are fairly easy to complete and won’t require a lot of time.

However, you won’t be able to farm many rewards from these. They are the most common type of skirmishes, and you will only be able to farm typical rewards like Ingredients, SP, Materials, Gold, and other standard rewards. The enemies that you will be fighting in these types of skirmishes are also not difficult to beat in the game. You will also be able to gather a lot of Bond Fragments that can be quite important for your future battles.

Silver Corrupted Skirmishes

They will appear less often than the normal type or the standard type of skirmishes. Therefore, they are quite rare to appear and should not be skipped. The players will encounter mostly the Silver Corrupted Enemies during these types of skirmishes.

The players will be able to get a lot of XP points and SP points after completing these types of skirmishes. So if you are one of the players looking to get more battle experience, then you should definitely look out for these silver-corrupted skirmishes.

It is important to note that all the silver-corrupted enemies that will spawn during these skirmishes will actually give you much more experience points than the normal silver-corrupted enemies. Make sure to always go into these silver-corrupted skirmishes with the units you want to level up. In this way you will be able to level up the characters you will actually use in your battles more.

Gold Corrupted Skirmishes

These skirmishes are best for players who are looking to get their hands on some extra cash. They are also very rare, just like the silver corrupted skirmishes but will allow you to farm a lot of rewards.

If you do see this kind of skirmishes on your world map, make sure always to complete them as they will allow you to farm a lot of valuable items and other rewards. In Gold Corrupted Skirmishes, you will be against Gold Corrupted Enemies, and after defeating them, you will get not only a lot of XP points but also a handful amount of money.

There are also training skirmishes that will reward you with a lot of gold and XP as well. The best part about these skirmishes is that you will be able to get these rewards even if your unit is defeated.

These are like training battles, and you will be able to complete them in the castle where you have fought your first battle in the game. You will get a lot of money along with 3000 XP points as well as fifty additional bonus XP points for every unit that is participating in the battle.

Rewards

You will be able to earn the following rewards from each skirmish you take on.

  •  Ingredients
  •  Adoptable Animals
  •  Materials
  •  Gold
  •  Sp
  •  Experience

You will get the same base rewards for every skirmish you complete. However, in the gold and silver corrupted skirmishes, the number of rewards you will get will increase significantly.

The rewards you get will also depend on your Donation Level. After completing each skirmish, you will also be able to pick up any materials or ingredients lying around.

Difference Between Training Battles And Skirmishes

Unlike the skirmishes, the training metals will not appear in a certain region. Also, they will not spawn randomly in the world. If you are playing Fire Emblem Engage in Classic Mode, then any unit that gets defeated in a training battle will return.

Furthermore, you won’t be able to fight any silver or gold-corrupted enemies in these training battles. However, the training battles are still worth it as they will reward your units with a significant amount of experience points and even a lot of gold.

How To Improve Skirmishes

The players will be able to improve their skirmishes by simply increasing the Donation Level of that region. You will be able to increase the donation level of each region by simply accessing the Bulletin Board of that country. The higher the donation level of a particular region, the more skirmishes will appear there.

Where To Find
Where To Find Skirmishes

You will be able to upgrade these skirmishes by opening the bullet board in Cafe Terrace and clicking on the Nation Donations Menu. Players will also be able to reroll all the available skirmishes on the world map to get better options. You will be able to donate around 5000 at first to any country where you want to farm skirmishes. After that, you will be able to donate around 50,000 to upgrade your skirmishes.

After increasing the donation level, the players will be able to increase the strength and power of the enemies that they will face there as well. Furthermore, by doing so, you will get more chances of getting silver and gold-corrupted skirmishes on the map.

How To Increase The Donation Level

In order to raise the donation level and improve your chances of getting more skirmishes, you can follow the steps below.

  • Visit Somniel and head straight to the Cafe Terrace.
  • After that, you need to interact with a Bulletin Board there.
  • You will get a lot of options to donate to certain countries.
  • Choose the country that you want to donate to. Keep in mind that you will only be able to donate to that country if you have fought a battle there.
  • Pick the amount you want to donate. Keep in mind that the higher amount you will donate will increase the chances of getting rare skirmishes in the game.
  • You will be able to donate 5000, 10,000, 25,000, and 50,000 to these countries.
  • After confirming your choice, you will be able to increase your Donation Level.

You will also get a lot of rewards by giving donations and increasing your chances of getting more gold and silver corrupted skirmishes on the map.

There are certain regions that allow the players to farm more gold and silver Skirmishes as compared to other areas. These regions are actually late-game regions like Elusia and Solm.

How To Reroll Skirmishes

You will be able to reroll skirmishes to get rare ones by following these simple steps below.

  • First, go to the System Settings located on your home screen and scroll all the way down to the bottom.
  • After that, you will see an option for the System that you need to select.
  • Scroll all the way down until you see Date And Time.
  • Now you need to disable an option called Synchronize Clock Via Internet.
  • Now you need to open the Date And Time settings and adjust the time period to one hour ahead of your actual time.
  • Now go back to Fire Emblem Engage, and new skirmishes will appear.

In case you don’t like these skirmishes that have popped up, you can repeat the process until you get the rare skirmishes in the game.

Maddening Difficulty

Many players have spotted an issue that skirmishes are not available in the maddening difficulty. Therefore, if you are one of the players who have selected the maddening difficulty, you won’t be able to farm skirmishes. However, there are some users on Reddit that have claimed that skirmishes can spawn on your world map by following some simple steps.

According to the users, you will need to pay Brodie some amount of money to access these skirmishes. It is not actually a bug or an error, but the developers have simply not decided to put skirmishes in maddening difficulty in order to balance the game. If the players wish to clear skirmishes, then they can choose a different difficulty level.
