Square Enix and Sony Interactive Entertainment have confirmed that the exclusivity of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PS5 is only limited.
It has been revealed that the next and most anticipated role-playing game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be exclusive to the 9th Next generation PlayStation console. During the latest State of Play, a note revealed that the PS5 exclusive “is not available in other formats until at least May 29, 2024.”
The game’s release date is set for February 29, 2024, meaning it’s guaranteed to be a PS5 exclusive for at least three months.
The original game, Final Fantasy VII Remake, was first released in April 2020 exclusively for PS4, which was then upgraded to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for PS5 in June 2021. It was then ported to PC that same year, in December 2021.
In addition to the PS5 exclusivity, creative director Tetsuya Nomura revealed in an interview with PlayStation Blog the place where the next video game will end.
“Although there are some changes to the order of the locations, the locations depicted in this title extend all the way to The Forgotten Capital, where Final Fantasy VII’s greatest destiny awaits you,” Nomura revealed.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches on February 24, 2024 on PS5.
