Invasion is one of the ways to engage PvP in Elden Ring. It requires you to use Festering Bloody Fingers to enter another person’s world. You can use different tactics to beat your opponents, may they be considered cheating. Because invasion isn’t a 1v1 battle, you must know the locations well. Here are all the best places to invade in Elden Ring.

Key Takeaways

ENEMIES IN THE AREA N/A
BOSSES Draconic Tree Sentinel

The Capital Outskirts is a huge area and is good for invasions in general. But in the whole Outskirts, the place where the Draconic Tree Sentinel is present is the best one. The area is free of other enemies, which makes it easier to maneuver around your opponent. Moreover, because there is a Draconic Tree Sentinel out there, you can lure your enemy there to initiate the boss battle during the invasion.

If the opponent has already dealt with the Draconic Tree Sentinel, then you can use the corridor behind the Tree Sentinel. The corridor is very small in its width, so the only option for the opponent and you are forward and backward. However, the lack of enemies in the area can help you a lot in Invasions, so this area is not much preferable.

Pros:

  • Draconic Tree Sentinel helps out a lot and can deal with your opponents easily.
  • You can use the corridor leading to the Royal Capital in case there is no Draconic Tree Sentinel.

Cons:

  • If the opponent has already killed the Draconic Tree Sentinel, then you will have to fight them alone.
  • There are no other enemies near the area.

14. Nokron City

Nokron City
Nokron City. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Ancestral Follower, Lesser Crucible Knight, Fallen Hawks Soldier, Silver Tear, Silver Sphere, Night Maiden, Nox Swortstress
BOSSES Mimic Tear, Regal Ancestor Spirit, Valiant Gargoyle, Valiant Gargoyle (twin-blade)

The Nokron City has a very complex structure and various types of enemies in it, which makes it good for invasion. It has both open areas for 1v1 battles as well as different structures where you can hide and use stealth to defeat your opponents. The starting area has some platforming sections that can be used to drop your opponents for instant kills. There are also the Silver Tear Husks which can be quite formidable enemies.

Once you have entered the Ancestral Forest, you can find Ancestral Followers, which are extremely difficult enemies to deal with. They are archers and hence a great distraction for the opponent during an invasion. However, these Ancestral Followers aren’t as aggressive as the ones in Siofra River, so you shouldn’t prefer this area to invade frequently. Moreover, the area is completely optional, and many players ignore it.

Pros:

  • Complex Structure that can be used for hiding and stealth. Very useful for Magic users.
  • A variety of enemies are very helpful during invasions.

Cons:

  • Siofra River is similar and is essentially a better area than Nokron City.
  • The Ancestral Followers are less aggressive than the Siofra River Ancestral Followers.

13. Stormveil Castle

stormveil castle invasion

ENEMIES IN THE AREA Exile Soldier, Troll, Omen, Living Jar, Commoner, Rotten Stray, Banished Knight, Warhawk
BOSSES Grafted Scion, Lion Guardian, Ulcerated Tree Spirited, Godrick the Grafted

The Stormveil Castle is the first dungeon in the game, but it is not to be taken lightly. The whole area is very complex, with more than a few entrances, traps, and enemies. You can easily get lost in the area and use the many different enemies to deal with your opponent. You can lead the other person from the front gate and have them face a barrage of attacks that will instantly kill them.

Even though the area is great for invasions, there is one main problem that makes it a bit bothersome. Most players who have already cleared the dungeon will know exactly where the traps are and how to avoid them. They won’t fall for petty tricks, and you will have to fight them on your own. The newer players will fall for the traps, but they won’t amount to much as invasions are very costly because of Bloody Festring Fingers.

Pros:

  • Highly complex dungeon layout with different shortcuts leading to enemies and even a fall to your death.
  • Traps and enemies in every corner of the Castle make it easier for new players to fall for them.

Cons:

  • Experienced Players will already know all the traps and enemies making it hard for invasions against them.
  • It is an early game area that people don’t visit much after finishing it.

12. Siofra River

siofra river

ENEMIES IN THE AREA Ancestral Follower, Boar, Clayman, Deer, Eagle, Giant Crab, Giant Dragonfly, Land Octopus, Giant Land Octopus, Giant Poison Flower, Rat, Sheep, Teardrop Scarab
BOSSES Ancestor Spirit, Dragonkin Soldier

The underground Siofra River is a great place to invade in Elden Ring. It has a huge area that you can easily get lost in. You can use the open area to your advantage as well as use the different structures to hide from opponents and stealthy kill them. You can use the open area to your advantage because of the enemies in this area.

The Ancestral Followers in Siofra River are much stronger than in Nokron City. They are extremely powerful and can aim really well. The arrows will always hit unless you dodge at the right time. Once you have lured the other player into the open area, they can easily kill your opponent. Most players here will be beginners, so the rewards won’t be as good as the ones in the later areas’ invasions.

Pros:

  • Challenging enemies as well as Ancestral Followers that can kill most players in one hit.
  • Open Fields, as well as small complex structures, can act as cover from opponents.

Cons:

  • An early game area, which most high-level players rarely visit, meaning lesser rewards.
  • If you can’t lure the opponent to where the Ancestral Followers can shoot him, it will lower your chance of victory.

11. Leyndell Royal Capital

leyndell capital
Royal Capital after the Erdtree has been burnt. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Albinauric, Commoner, Broken Statue, Duelist, Errant Sorcerer, Fingercreeper, Giant Miranda Sprout, Guardian, High Page, Land Squirt, Large Oracle Envoy, Leonine Misbegotten, Lesser Fingercreeper, Leyndell Soldier, Leyndell Knight, Miranda Sprout, Misbegotten, Oracle Envoy, Omenkiller, Page, Perfumer, Rat, Skeletal Militiaman, Skeletal Slime, Skeletons, Skeletal Snail, Rotten Stray, Vargram, The Raging Wolf
BOSSES Divine Bridge Golem, Crucible Tree Knight, Erdtree Avatar, Ulcerated Tree Spirit, Lion Guardian, Valiant Gargoyle, Black Knife Assassin, Godfrey (Shade), Morgott, The Omen King

The Royal Capital is one of the best places to invade in Elden Ring. It is one of the largest areas as well as one of the most complex ones. It is filled with many strong enemies which can help you in invasions. You can also use the terrain to drop the opponents to their deaths. Especially if you are fighting the enemy on top of the tree leading to the top of the castle, then it is even easier.

You can also fight the opponent within the streets of the capital. There you can lead the other player straight to the Tree Spirit Boss in one of the streets. The Knights are also formidable enemies and are in many places of Leyndell. However, there is one downside of this area for invasions. Once the host of the invasion has burned the Erdtree, the capital is filled with ashes and loses its former glory as a great invasion spot.

Pros:

  • Huge area with a lot of buildings and streets filled with tough enemies on every corner.
  • High-altitude areas are also present, where you can push your enemies off to kill them instantly.

Cons:

  • The areas of high altitude are just as dangerous for you as they are for the opponent.
  • The area is relatively useless for invasions once the Erdtree has been burnt.

10. Elphael Brace Of Haligtree

elphael brace of haligtree

ENEMIES IN THE AREA Haligtree Knight, Haligtree Soldier, Lesser Cleanrot Knight, Lesser Crystalian, Lesser Kindred of Rot, Putrid Avatar, Ulcerated Tree Spirit, Revenant
BOSSES Malenia Blade of Miquella

Once someone has defeated Loretta, you can access the Elphael Brace of Haligtree. It is a complete castle inside the Haligtree. It is very complex and isn’t a really big area. You are mostly in concealed places, and it is a very good place for close-quarter combat. There is also an entire area called Lake of Rot. As the name suggests, the whole place can cause scarlet rot, which can be devastating for anyone.

The enemies in the area are also really tough. They can do melee as well as long-ranged combat, which makes them tough. There is also an open-world boss. You can lead your opponent there and make easy work of them. However, it is a completely optional area, so most players here are experienced. Plus, the scarlet rot is dangerous for you as well unless you have the right armor and a lot of Preserving Blouses.

Pros:

  • There are very small areas to run around in, with a lot of tough enemies roaming around there.
  • A section is filled with Scarlet Rot which is extremely dangerous for anyone.

Cons:

  • Most casual players skip the area, so you will find many experienced players for invasions.
  • The area with scarlet rot isn’t just dangerous for the opponent but for you as well.

9. Miquella’s Haligtree

Haligtree invasion

ENEMIES IN THE AREA Battle Mage, Giant Ant, Giant Miranda Sprout, Lesser Spirit-Caller Snail, Misbegotten, Oracle Envoy, Large Orcale Envoy, Giant Oracle Envoy, Miranda Sprout, Putrid Corpse, Teardrop Scarab
BOSSES Loretta Haligtree Knight

The Haligtree might be an optional area, but it is easily one of the best places to invade in Elden Ring. It is a huge area comprising mostly of tree branches that you can utilize to kill your enemies instantly. The branches are filled with enemies, so you can also use them to defeat anyone. But during invasions, the best way to deal with others is to defeat them as soon as possible.

Even if they aren’t on the branches, you can still beat them on the balconies. There are a lot of Misbegotten that are very aggressive. You can use them to distract the opponent and easily vanquish them. There is a catch to the Haligtree. Even though the invasions can easily be dealt with if you make the enemy fall, you yourself can fall off very easily. Hence, it is a high-risk, high-reward situation.

Pros:

  • The whole upper part of the Haligtree are tree branches, so you can use them to make the opponent fall to their death.
  • Many tough enemies can be found in the balconies, which can help you make the opponent rush and maybe accidentally fall to their deaths.

Cons

  • Fighting on top of the tree is just as dangerous for you as it is for your opponent because you can fall down as well.
  • Even in the lower section of the Haligtree, there are many places you can fall off of if the opponent gets the upper hand on you.

8. Volcano Manor

volcano manor

ENEMIES IN THE AREA Abductor Virgin, Albinauric, Bloodhound Knight, Burning Slug, Inquisitor Ghiza, Mage-Serpent, Man-Serpent, Omenkiller, Serpent Snail, Teardrop Scarab, Wandering Nobles
BOSSES Abductor Virgins, Godskin Noble, God-Devouring Serpent, Magma Wyrm, Rykard Lord of Blasphemy

The house of Rykard the Blasphemous is a notorious place filled with lava, enemies, and traps—the perfect place to kill your enemies and loot their goods. The whole area is a great spot for invasions as this is a mid-game area and will have players with a good amount of runes. The only restriction in the whole area is the front gate area with Tanith and other NPCs in it.

The rest of the Volcano Manor is a huge mansion floating over lava. You can use the lava to slowly kill anyone with low health. The enemies in the manor are really tough as well. These enemies can be really useful for invasions. There are also a few bosses hidden in the area. You can lead new players to these bosses, and they can deal with them very easily.

Pros:

  • Complex structure with tough and fast enemies with some formidable bosses as well.
  • Most of the area is filled with lava which you can use in invasions as it damages your opponents.

Cons:

  • The lava can damage not only your opponent but you as well, which can lead to your defeat.

7. Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow

dragonbarrow

ENEMIES IN THE AREA Blackflame Monk, Black Blade Kindred, Chanting Winged Dame, Giant Bat, Giant Rat, Lesser Dragon, Lesser Runebear, Lone Wolf, Redmane Knight, School of Graven Mages, Springhare, Vulgar Militiamen
BOSSES Battlemage Hugues, Beastman of Farum Azula (Duo), Bell Bearing Hunter, Black Blade Kindred, Cleanrot Knight (Duo), Elder Dragon Greyoll, Flying Dragon Greyll, Godskin Apostle, Night’s Cavalry, Putrid Avatar, Putrid Crystalian Trio, Putrid Tree Spirit

Caelid is a huge area and has many places in it, but Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow is the best place for invasions. The whole place is infested with Dragons, as the name suggests. All of these dragons are extremely tough enemies, and because there is such an abundance of them, you can use them as distractions to kill the opponent. There is also a Corrupted Tree Spirit in the area, which you can use to your advantage as well.

Moreover, there is a Dragon boss in the area that you can find sitting on the bridge leading to the Bestial Sanctum. The Bestial Sanctum is a great farming spot, and a number of players use it for farming runes because of the enemies in the area. Let us not forget about the Black Blade Kindred boss right in front of the sanctum as well. All these reasons make it one of the best places to invade in Elden Ring.

Pros:

  • Dragon enemies are all very tough and can be extremely useful for invasions.
  • Some players might use Beastial Sanctum as a farming spot, so it is great if you require runes.

Cons:

  • Most of the area is open and has few places to hide, meaning stealth can be difficult.

6. Liurnia of Lakes

liurnia
Liurnia of Lakes. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Abductor Virgin, Adan, Abnormal Stone Crusher, Albinauric, Ancestral Follower, Avionette Soldier, Burning Slug, Crystal Snail, Depraved Perfumer, Festering Fingerprint Vyke, Fingercreeper, Fire Monk, Flame Chariot, Frenzied Villager, Glintstone Sorcerer, Guillemot, Grafted Scion, Imp, Land Octopus, Land Squirt, Lazuli Sorcerer, Mausoleum Soldier, Mausoleum Knight, Noble Sorcerer, Omen, Preceptor Miriam, Raya Lucaria Knight, Raya Lucaria Soldier, Skeletal Militiamen, Skeleton Mage, Spirit Jellyfish, Troll Knight, Twinsage
BOSSES Adan, Thief of Fire, Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader, Bell Bearing Hunter, Bloodhound Knight, Black Knife Assassin, Bols, Carian Knight, Cleanrot Knight, Crystilian Spear and Staff, Death Rite Bird, Erdtree Avatar, Glintstone Dragon, Godskin Noble, Magma Wyrm, Night’s Cavalry, Onyx Lord, Red Wolf of Redagon, Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, Royal Knight Loretta, Royal Revenant, Tibia Mariner

The Liurnia of Lakes is one of the largest areas in Elden Ring and quite easily one of the best places to invade in Elden Ring. The whole area is filled with enemies, bosses, caves, and much more. There are patches of trees, ruins, and even giant rocks. Many enemies are lurking around such places, which can be very annoying for the opponent.

If you are near the Walking Mausoleum in the Liurnia of Lakes, then lure your enemy to it. There is a full army of spirits right at its feet. When they are busy fighting that army, either you can kill them, or they can get stomped by the Mausoleum. You can also find a Glint-stone Dragon sitting right over the Key to Raya Lucaria.

Pros:

  • Massive open area with small structures, caves, enemies, and even a legacy dungeon in it.
  • Great for duels as well as sneaky tactics for runes farming.

Cons:

  • The open area is huge, so if you are a magic user who needs places to hide to set up magic, it will be troublesome.

5. First Step Of Grace

first grace
The first grace in Elden Ring. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Abnormal Stone Cluster, Godrick Knight, Godrick Soldier, Land Octopus, Godrick Foot Soldier, Eagle, Demi-human, Exile Soldier
BOSSES Tree Sentinel, Flying Dragon Agheel

Most people might undermine the first Grace in the Open World of Elden Ring. However, it can be a really good spot for invasions. The first grace has a lot of players come back to it. Most players even wait there for duels, invasions, or to help out lower-level players with bosses. It is a great place for invasions in general and can be extremely beneficial.

Right in front of the Grace is the very first Tree Sentinel. On the right, you can find a Dragon in the marsh. These bosses are the best way to deal with new players. Because new players will not know of them, it will be easier to deceive them and easily take the win. The more experienced players won’t fall for it, but even they will have trouble fighting you and the Tree Sentinel at once.

Pros:

  • Two great open-world bosses are near here, so if the host hasn’t killed either, you can utilize them.
  • Mainly used for duels, especially if there is no Tree Sentinel there.

Cons:

  • If the bosses have already been dealt with, it will be troublesome for you, especially if you are a magic user.

4. Mohgwyn’s Palace

Mohgwyn's palace invasion
In front of the crowd of enemies in Mohgwyn’s Palace. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Albinauric, Giant Crow, Nameless White Mask, Putrid Corpse, Blistered Stray, Sanguine Noble
BOSSES Mohg Lord of Blood

The Mohgwyn’s Palace is another optional area that many people can skip unknowingly. However, it makes up for an amazing place for invasions. It has one of the best farming locations in Elden Ring, known as the Bird Farm. That itself is reason enough to make it a really good place for invasions. The first grace outside is a great farming location that also has some fierce Albinaurics, which can kill your opponents easily.

As you go deeper into Mohgwyn’s Palace, the enemies keep getting extremely tough. The layout of the Palace is also very complex, and it’s dark all over the area. You can hide inside the dark and wait for the enemy to come inside. As soon as they do, you can stealthily kill them in the dark. You can also push them off the ledge or take them to the top floor with the horde of Albinuarics sitting in front of an item.

Pros:

  • Great place for farming, so if you can defeat your enemies, get a lot of runes.
  • The inside area is in the dark, so sometimes it is hard to see, which makes it easier for you to deal with your opponent.

Cons:

  • The dark place isn’t just dark for the opponent. If you use magic, then it will be very easy for you. However, using melee combat can be somewhat difficult.

3. Consecrated Snowfields

consecrated field
The Consecrated Fields. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Alabaster Lord, Albinauric Wolfback Archer, Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater, Crystal Snail, Cleanrot Knight, Dragonskin Solider, Kaiden Sellsword, Land Octopus, Mausoleum Knight, Mausoleum Soldier, Misbegotten, Putrid Grave Warden Duelist, Rotten Duelist, Rotten Stray, Vulgar Militiamen, Wandering Nobles
BOSSES Astel, Stars of Darkness, Death Rite Bird, Great Wyrm Theodorix, Misbegotten Crusader, Night’s Cavalry, Putrid Avatar, Putrid Grave Warden Duelist

Most of the time, open fields are only good for duels in Elden Ring. However, the Consecrated Snowfield is the opposite of most of them. That is because it is filled to the brim with enemies. Some areas are really foggy. You can lure your opponents straight to a lot of different enemies roaming around the big open field and easily kill them as they are being distracted by them.

There are also quite a few bosses that can be found here. The Death Rite Bird is one that many can use in invasions as they are fast and can do very heavy damage. There is also a Wyrm named Great Wrym Theodorix in the area that you can lure your opponents to. You can also find caves and tunnels all around the area, so if you lure them into such a place, then make sure you make easy work of them.

Pros:

  • A gigantic open area that makes a great place for duels with a lot of tunnels, caves as well and enemies.
  • The areas with fog can be great for stealth kills and make for a great place to invade in Elden Ring.

Cons:

  • The huge open area can be a problem because there might be no enemies nearby in some places.

2. Mountaintops Of Giants

mountaintops
The Mountaintops Of Giants. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Abnormal Stone Cluster, Avionette Soldier, Bloody Finger Okina, Burning Slug, Lesser Demi-Human Chief, Fire Monk, Flame Guardian, Knight of Zamor, Lion Guardian, Marionette Soldier, Misbegotten, Living Jar, Rotten Stray, Skeletal Slime, Spirit Jellyfish, Troll
BOSSES Ancient Hero of Zamor, Borealis the Freezing Fog, Chief Guardian Arghanthy, Commander Niall, Death Rite Bird, Erdtree Avatar, Fire Giant, Godskin Apostle & Godskin Noble, Roundtable Knight Vyke

The Mountaintops of Giants make up for an amazing place for invasion. There are a lot of different areas where you can defeat your opponents. The enemies up here are some of the toughest you can fight. They can easily kill even the most experienced of players in a few hits. When you use them to fight against opponents, then they can easily get killed.

There are different structures that you can find in the area, and it helps you to be stealthy. There are a few areas with undead enemies, like the Death Rite Bird boss. You can also find Castle Sol in the Mountaintops which is a very tough dungeon as well. There are some other good places where you can defeat your invasion enemies. Plus, most players here are highly experienced, so it makes the whole area a great invasion spot.

Pros:

  • Some of the toughest enemies and bosses can be found, which can help you in invasions.
  • Many places have different structures, which can be great for hiding, and some places you can use to make the opponents fall to their deaths.

Cons:

  • Most players are highly experienced, so fighting them head-on can be difficult because it is an end-game area.

1. Crumbling Farum Azula

farum azula invasion
Crumbling Farum Azula. (Screenshot credits: eXputer)
ENEMIES IN THE AREA Azula Beastman, Banished Knight, Crucible Knight, Draconic Tree Sentinel, Farum Azula Dragon, Lesser Crucible Knight, Lesser Wormface, Rotten Stray, Recusant Bernahl, Warhawk
BOSSES Dragonlord Placidusax, Godskin Duo, Maliketh

The Crumbling Farum Azula is one of, if not the best, places to invade in Elden ring. It has it all in one single location. Tough enemies, extremely complex structure, and things you can use as traps against your opponents. The enemies are some of the toughest ones because the area is an end-game area. You can also find some of the toughest bosses here too. A Draconic Tree Sentinel can also be found right outside the final boss arena.

The area itself is complex enough to make you go in circles. There are many flying enemies that can be very annoying during platforming. You can use them to distract the opponent and push them off a ledge. If you are lucky enough, then you can just push them off. The whole area is in the sky, so you can drop them easily. There are a lot of other ways that you can use here, which makes it the best place to invade in Elden Ring.

Pros:

  • It is the best place to invade in Elden Ring because it has everything from tough enemies and complex structures as well as tough open-field bosses.
  • The whole area is in the sky, so dropping your enemies down from here means instant death.

Cons:

  • The only problem here is the fact that you can fall to your death as well if you try doing it on your enemy.

These are all the best places to invade in Elden Ring. Before you invade anyone, you need to be well prepared for it. You need the best weapons and best armor, and if you are a mage, then you definitely need the best magic spells. Many players can be much more experienced than you, which can lead to your defeat. Invasions can be very beneficial, so you must do everything beforehand to ensure victory.
