The fourth quarter, on the other hand, did not see more than a 3% increase in its revenue, but it still demonstrated the strength of the quarter by reaching a record in net bookings, growing by 31% year-over-year. The net bookings were because of the EA Sports FIFA series. The total net revenue was slightly higher than last year’s quarter four, achieving $1.87 billion over last year’s $1.82 billion.

Record live services performance and increased engagement, particularly from our EA SPORTS FIFA franchise, drove better-than-expected Q4 net bookings, capping a strong finish to the fiscal year. Looking ahead, our teams remain disciplined in prioritizing the player experience as we continue to focus our investments on long-term growth,” says Chris Suh, CFO.

Coming toward specific titles, FIFA 23‘s lifetime sales topped FIFA 22’s lifetime sales in another massive achievement, becoming the most successful title in the series’ history. FIFA 23 was able to achieve the massive achievement in just six months since its launch. The Sims 4 has seen an enormous growth of 70 million total players in its playerbase. An influx of new players poured into the base game after it went free to play for everyone.

Its prominent live service game, Apex Legends, has also seen a flood of players flocking together at the same time. Its peak weekly active users for Season 16 increased by an enticing 20% compared to the previous Season.

The notable company also shared a forecast for its current fiscal year, specifying some prominent figures. EA anticipates that its revenues will fall around the same range as this year, from $7.3 billion to $7.7 billion. Net bookings are also guessed to be under the same range as this year, falling around the same numerals as the net revenue.

Electronic Arts recently released Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which was plagued with bugs, performance and optimization issues, and graphical and audio anomalies despite being an enjoyable AAA experience. Some updates since its release have improved the performance issues, but a myriad of bugs still linger in the entry. However, its player count has managed to surpass its predecessor by a wide margin on Steam.
