As part of CAPCOM’s presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, a new Dragon’s Dogma 2 was presented deep game analysis video was released.
The new detailed video shown at TGS 2023 reveals more gameplay of the upcoming sequel Dragon’s Dogma 2. This falls short of being the true continuation of the cult classic open-world RPG, based solely on the images shown.
The original game had players explore the game’s open world, which is filled with massive enemies that are highly reactive. Players can knock them down or climb over them to deliver fatal blows. In this sequel, these features are doubled with new useful uses in the world. Do you see a giant ogre on the road and conveniently near a canyon? Flip it over and use its casing as a bridge! Did you just find a damn naturally occurring thing nearby and are being overwhelmed by enemies? Open the walls to turn them against your enemies!
There are new vocations to explore in addition to advanced hybrid options. The original bow and dagger Vocation, Strider, has now been split into two separate starting options. The Archer now offers tons of ranged features and the Thief focuses on quick dagger attacks and great climbing potential.
The video also showed Mystic Spearhead fighting a chimera and a group of wolves. He uses a spell that paralyzes the wolf and then advances close to the wolf with a teleportation movement, uses a spear to slaughter it to death and uses magic to transport the wolf’s corpse and throw it at the chimera. It’s a completely new and crazy way to mess things up on the battlefield.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is still in development.
