Doom Patrol Season 4 Trailer Teases Major Villains and Funky New Costumes

The second trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of the Doom Patrol reveals that the team is faced with a new challenge as they are thrust into the past.

HBO Max released the second trailer for doom patrolThe fourth season of ‘s, teasing new threats and fancy costumes.

The trailer expands on what fans saw in the doom patrol Season 4 trailer with a lot more plot than the weird new all-singing-and-dancing killer monsters. It begins with Willoughby Kipling telling the team that something “very big and very dangerous is on its way” to end the world: the Immortus project, which is pursuing immortality. Now the team must use time travel to stop the project and save the world. However, as the catchphrase for the fourth season says, the Doom Patrol must decide whether saving the world or preserving their own happiness is more important. The new season premieres on December 8 with the first two episodes.

Adding to the sense of impending doom hanging over the motley heroes, the trailer showed off new costumes for the entire team, though it’s unclear if they pertain to the time travel aspect of the new season. A brief glimpse shows Robotman, Negative Man, and Crazy Jane in what looks like retro space outfits. Other clips show them seeing themselves in classic black and white movies and reacting to some of the changes after their time jump, including Cyborg’s new braces.

Doom Patrol Season 4 Adds New Heroes And Villains

Returning cast members include Brendan Fraser and Riley Shanahan as Cliff Steele/Robotman, Matt Bomer and Matthew Zuk as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, April Bowlby as Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman, Joivan Wade as Vic Stone/Cyborg. and Michelle Gomez as Laura DeMille/Madame Rouge. Madeline Zima joins the cast in a recurring role as Casey Brinke, an EMT who gets caught up in the team’s latest adventure. Showrunner Jeremy Carver mocked Zima’s character, praising her character as a favorite among the cast and crew.

“Casey is so loved by both our writers on staff and fans of doom patrol usually. We finally found a way to bring her into the story in a way that feels completely organic to us, albeit to someone who has never seen doom patrolIt can seem a little bat—crazy. For us, it fits the bill! And it’s not just a cameo.”

Season 4 also adds ex Heroes stars Sendhil Ramamurthy as a mysterious new character named Mr. 104, a dark villain from the DC comics. The character, whose full name is Jonathan Dubrovny in the comics, was created by writer Arnold Drake and artist Bruno Premiani and originally appeared in 1965. doom patrol #98.

doom patrol premieres with the first two episodes on December 8, streaming exclusively on HBO Max.
