Destiny 2 Weekly Reset January 24, 2023

This is your weekly Destiny 2 reset for January 24, 2023. As many of you already know, there will be no story update for this week. That’s right, it’s the calm before the storm and it’s our chance to prepare for the season finale and the start of Lightfall.

Bungie has announced that there will be an upcoming quest + activity in the last two weeks of Season of the Seraph. Season Pass owners can take advantage of an early peek, as they’ll start the final quest automatically upon login.

Destiny 2 More than a weapons quest ending

Rasputin is well aware that the end is near. Simulations of him with the Techeuns of the Reef paint a bleak picture. He is slowly coming to terms with the fact that no matter what kind of tactics he may execute, they will all empower Xivu Arath in one way or another. He also admits that we can’t let them get away with the Warsat network.

“I also have a… special request” says Rasputin.

Turns out, all the answers were right there, right under our noses. Under the Cosmodrome, actually.

Many in the Destiny 2 community believe that the files we gave Rasputin were, in fact, the coordinates for Neomuna. I would suggest that Rasputin has finally trusted us enough with this critical information. But he begs the question, “why did he take so long to trust us?” Perhaps we can point this out as another of Warmind’s failed guesses. Like the ill-advised decision to destroy the Traveler.

In this case, however, we can look to the Spire of the Watcher for clues to the truth behind the files. Many years ago, Rasputin helped escape from a colony ship with the help of another AI. This ship drifted and eventually lost contact with Earth. Rasputin did this as a last ditch attempt to save what he thought would be the last remnants of humanity.

Rasputin’s gamble may yet save us all.

Destiny 2 weekly reset time

As always, Destiny 2 weekly reset times are 10AM PDT for folks on the West Coast of the US and 6AM BST for our readers in the UK. And at 2 AM JST the next day for everyone in Japan.

Destiny 2 Weekly Activities for January 24-30, 2023

This week sees massive balance changes throughout the game. Here are our personal highlights:

  • The blues team will no longer drop into softcover. This news is a welcome sight for veterans who are deep in the power rut and tired of manually ridding themselves of the blues. In addition, Bungie will increase the reputation gain from dismantling gear by 25% to offset the loss of the blue team’s reputation gain.
  • Rumble will be a permanent activity in the Crucible.

Bungie has yet to announce the final list of changes that will be implemented from the weekly reset. So stay tuned for that.

However, on a final note, Guardians can enjoy additional ranks in the Crucible for the rest of the week. This is a good opportunity to catch up and acquire that Veles-X Crucible weapon ornament.

Destiny 2 Weekly Challenges January 24, 2023

  • Seraph Shield III: Complete the mission “Operation: Seraph Shield on Legend difficulty. Defeat combatants with precision damage anywhere in the system using pulse rifles
  • Flawless Heists: Complete Heist Battlegrounds in playlist or Legend Heist Battlegrounds without dying.
  • Threshold approach III: Focus the IKELOS weapon engrams on the Exo Frame in the HELM
  • Seraph Calibration: Calibrate Pulse Rifles, Fusion Rifles, and Power Grenade Launchers. Quickly defeating fighters and defeating Guardians will grant additional progress.
  • Gambit Ornament: Acquire the Gambit ornament for Veles-X.
  • Trial by firing squad: Win multiple rounds in Trials of Osiris.

Destiny 2 Nightfall this week from January 24 to 30, 2023

This week’s featured Nightfall takes us to the Scarlet Fortress where we have to prevent a vengeful hive from completing another sinister ritual.

Dusk Gun This Week

This week sees the return of the Horror Minimal Pulse Rifle like the featured Nightfall weapon. I’m not sure how to feel about this, as pulse rifles will be coming out pretty soon. Still, a rapid-fire frame can work wonders in close quarters with the full auto setting on.

Destiny 2 Crucible Featured Gameplay January 24, 2022

The fun times are back, as Lord Shaxx authorized the return of scorched gear to the Crucible! Not only can you blow off steam after losing two consecutive ranked games to Citan’s Rampart teams, but it’s also another chance to complete the Team Scorched Seasonal Challenge.

Destiny 2 Raid and Dungeon Featured January 17-23, 2022

This week’s featured raid will be deep stone crypt once again. And if true, Bungie has increased the drop rate of the red border starting this week. It’s a great way to find out if it’s launched. Still, though, the Deep Stone Crypt weapons are more than worth it.

and we have the prophecy dungeon featured this week. Enter the realm of the Nine and ask the enigmatic question: “What is the nature of Darkness?”

And as usual, completing this featured content will reward you with pinnacle gear.

Deep Stone Crypt Raid Challenges

  • red rover – Performed during the 1st encounter in Crypt Security, this challenge asks all players to be an Operator and shoot the two panels on the bottom level (this challenge requires 3 stages).
  • copies of copies – Made during the 2nd Encounter, aka Atraks-1, do not send Debuffs to the air/space locks.
  • jack of all trades – Performed during the 3rd Encounter or Phase 1 of Taniks, each guardian must play all three roles (Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor). Note: Players must complete a full phase with a buff for it to count.
  • the main four – Performed during the fourth 4th encounter or Phase 2 of Taniks, the challenge requires Guardians to submerge all four cores before the DPS phases.

Destiny 2 King’s Fall Challenge This Week January 24, 2023

This week’s King’s Fall Challenge is going to be Under construction. Performed during the Daughters match, and requires that the runner not touch the same plates twice during the match. This one just needs everyone to be on the same page. And a little awareness works too.

If you pull this off, you and your raid team will be rewarded with an additional raid chest containing holy loot and some high-stat armor. And if you’ve been following the lead, you need to gild that King’s Killing Seal.
