In Chapter 4: Impending Obliteration in Dead Space Remake, the USG Ishimura is in danger of being destroyed, putting Isaac and the rest of Kellion’s crew at grave risk. This forces Isaac to do anything to turn on the ADS cannons to destroy the asteroids crashing into the ship. Here is a walkthrough that shows you how to complete Dead Space Remake Chapter 4.
This is a continuation of Dead Space Remake Chapter 3: Course Correction Tutorial.
Meet Hammond in the Captain’s Nest
Go to the Tram station in Engineering and use it to fast travel to the Bridge. After a short wait, you will find yourself on the Bridge Tram where Hammond and Kendra will connect with you. You will have to wait until the call ends before you can continue.
After the two of you finish arguing, head to the atrium hallway and follow the path. A huge necromorph arm will attack through the glass just before you reach the shop. Just avoid it as it can’t get to you unless you get close. Use the shop to stock up on supplies before continuing.
By the time you reach the atrium, a meteor will hit the hull, depriving the area of oxygen momentarily. Go down the elevator to meet Hammond. Isaac will explain what he must do to get the ADS cannons working.
After this cutscene ends, Isaac will receive level 2 security clearance. Now he has to activate the Security elevators.
Activate the elevators
Take the elevator back to the atrium. Head to the security room which requires security clearance level 2. Before you can unlock it though, the huge Necromorph monster from earlier bursts through.
This is the Brute necromorph, a huge creature that is fast and uses brute force to take Isaac down. The atrium will begin the quarantine preventing you from escaping until you take it out. He uses stasis to outrun him whenever he gets too close.
Due to its thick skin, the Ripper is the least effective weapon against the Brute. It is especially susceptible to mines from the Plasma Rifle and Flamethrower. Once the Brute is taken down, be sure to pick up the Node it drops before heading to safety.
You will have to turn on the elevators from the security room. There is an Upgrade Bank in the armory that you can put that Node you found to good use.
Redirect power from mining management
Go to the elevators in the atrium and take them to floor 2. You will need to divert power from the mine management to the ADS cannons. Just as you’re walking down the station access corridor, an asteroid will hit the corridor, leaving you in a vacuum.
You will be continually depleted of oxygen the longer you are in this corridor. The storage room in the front will help restore oxygen once the door is closed. There is also a Node that you can collect here. It shouldn’t matter too much as the Mining Administration you need to get to is just a short walk away.
With your Level 2 Security Clearance, go to the Records Office. This is where you can pick up the contact beam. This weapon fires powerful lasers that take a second to charge. You can try it in the Mining Administration room where some Necromorphs will attack.
Go left to the main fuse room where you can use your level 2 security clearance to open. You can pick up a gold semiconductor and cut some circuits there. An upgrade bench can be found in the nearby Coolant Monitoring Room. If you have additional nodes, you can use them to upgrade your newly acquired Contact Beam.
Once you’re done, go to the circuit breaker and reroute Mining power to the ADS cannons. Necromorphs will spawn after you do.
Redirect power from electrical systems
Go back to the elevator and take it to floor 3. The moment the elevator doors open, you will hear a loud scream. Continue to the communications matrix station and you will have a chance to save your game before continuing.
If you decide to go to the break room, Kendra will call you to inform you about the recording of Marker from inside. There is also a Gold Semiconductor that you can pick up from here. When you are ready, go to Electrical Systems.
Be careful inside this room as the floor has exposed electrical circuitry that could fry Isaac alive. This will also fry Necromorphs that step on it. You have to time it well for when you go across.
The biggest problem is that the Brute is hiding near the end of this maze-like area. His newly acquired contact beam should be a good weapon against him. His secondary fire charges a very powerful beam that deals heavy damage to larger Necromorphs like the Brute.
After you finish off the Brute, you can head over to where you can switch the breakers to power the ADS cannons. However, there’s another problem: loose wires are jumping everywhere, preventing you from doing it safely.
Use stasis to slow you down and immediately run to the circuit breaker. Turn off electrical systems, which should be enough to prevent wires from hurting you. Now diverts power to the ADS cannons.
Redirect power from the water station
Go back to the elevator and take it to floor 1. You will receive a call from Kendra on the way telling you about the nature of the necromorph outbreak in Ishimura. Once he reaches the atrium, Leaper Necromorphs will drop from the ceiling.
You might come across a Necromorph with a bloated stomach in the hallway. Although it is the most obvious weak point, hitting it is not recommended as it will release Swarmers, which can be bad news. Instead, use your flamethrower to quickly kill him.
Continue to divert power to the ADS cannons. Unlike the previous two, the Water Station will not give you too much trouble.
Calibrate the three ADS cannons
After diverting power to all three breakers, Hammond will call Isaac to tell him that the ADS cannons are back online. However, no calibration data is found for all three. This forces Isaac to go. outside the Ishimura and gather data to calibrate the three ADS cannons.
Hammond will unlock the exterior access. You can use the corridor to go out. Before you do, head to the EVA prep room to the side of the hall. There is a Golden Semiconductor and a schematic for an upgrade that you can pick up.
Once you enter the void, go to one of the cannons and interact with the panel to time your aim with it. What you’re going to do here is target the incoming asteroids and call in the attack until it hits 100%, which calibrates that ADS cannon for you.
This could be a challenge as you will need to refill your oxygen while calibrating the cannons. There are plenty of oxygen refill stations in case you run low. Also watch out for the Necromorphs that are attached to the exterior of the USG Ishimura.
After calibrating the ADS cannons, return to the USG Ishimura. Isaac will receive a call from Kendra which connects him to a live call from Nicole.
