In the naruto Y boruto lore, fans have seen a plethora of Ōtsutsuki aliens unleashed upon Earth. Amado reveals the truth behind Shibai Ōtsutsuki

When Naruto, Shikamaru, and company press Amado about the robots he made for Isshiki, he admits that he transplanted the DNA of a dead Ōtsutsuki into them. This being was none other than Shibai, who roamed the galaxy for millennia, devouring the chakra of the planets through the Tree God and Ten Tails. He would then use the Karma mark to be reborn repeatedly, continuing the feeding pattern.

His deceased painting is where Amado and Isshiki got the mark from, hoping that Kawaki could transform into Isshiki. Ironically, it’s what Momoshiki used, thinking that he would rewrite Boruto. As for Shibai’s power, he deployed shinjutsu, creating storms without hand seals. He could even summon lightning with just a roar, proving that things like Sage Mode, ninjutsu, and chakra manipulation were beneath him. Simply put, Shibai was the ultimate god that all other aliens respected and feared.

Shibai died on Earth, but he could still return

Shibai Ōtsutsuki is the new threat in Boruto

Now, Amado admits that he found the warrior’s remains, using this corpse to put various gifts on Isshiki’s soldiers when he was hired to perform Kara’s experiments. The diminutive Eida has his clairvoyance down to business, Daemon got the reflective attacks, Code got the teleportation bands, while Kawaki and Isshiki got their shrink abilities and penchant for storing weapons in a hidden dimension. Seeing as Shibai had both the Rinnegan and Byakugan, even one ability would make these minions extremely powerful as they boruto has illustrated.

The twist is that Amado isn’t sure if Shibai is really gone. After several cycles of evolution and using karma, he believes that there is a possibility that Shibai ascended to a higher dimension as an overgod, deliberately discarding his body. After all, he wouldn’t need a fragile vessel like this if he evolved into the perfect form. So there’s a chance he could return, not even needing a shell to rampage across the Earth and try to get back what was stolen, the same way Kaguya wanted chakra back.

Except this time around, Shibai will be much more powerful and possibly vengeful, which would require Konoha and the shinobi alliance to come up with a new plan against their biggest threat. Sadly, Sasuke doesn’t have the Rinnegan from him while Naruto lost Kurama, so this would require Boruto to take a big step forward, should he survive Kawaki’s heel.
