Batman Has Drafted Scooby-Doo’s Daphne to Be a New Batgirl

Iconic Scooby Doo the character Daphne Blake can now say that she has dressed up as Batgirl in an official DC comic.


In the newly published second issue of the second volume of The Mysteries of Batman and Scooby-Doo, the original Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, is left unwell. As such, Daphne is chosen by Batman himself to temporarily take over the role of Batgirl. Barbara takes her redheaded partner Daphne to her secret hideout, the Clock Tower, where she bestows him with the iconic costume. As Batgirl, Daphne then hits the streets, with Barbara once again taking on the role of Oracle.

Jeepers – There’s a new Batgirl in Gotham!

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Daphne has worn the Batgirl outfit. Mystery Inc.’s resident rich girl previously donned the hood in the 2018 animated film Scooby Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bolda cross between the Scooby Doo franchise and animated series Batman: The Brave and the Boldthe latter of which originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2011. In addition to Daphne donning Batgirl’s retired costume, the 2018 crossover movie saw Fred Jones, Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Velma Dinkley, and Scooby-Doo donning the retired Batman costumes. , Nightwing, Robin and Ace the Bat-Hound, respectively.

Mystery Inc. is certainly no stranger to crossovers, and the Scooby-Doo franchise has crossed over to win the bat Man franchise many times over the years, considering the fact that both are Warner Bros. properties. In fact, Scooby and the gang first met the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin in “The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair,” the second episode of the crossover-focused series. The new Scooby-Doo movieswhich originally aired in 1972. They joined forces again that same year in episode 15, “The Caped Crusader Caper.” The new Scooby-Doo movies it also saw Mystery Inc. partner with the likes of the Addams Family, the Three Stooges, Josie and the Pussycats, the Harlem Globetrotters, Davy Jones of the Monkees, and many more.
