Avatar: The Path of Water is on track for a huge opening weekend at the domestic box office this December.

According to Term, the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron is currently tracking to open between $150 million and $175 million. However, some rivals predict that the path of water could reach $200 million in its opening weekend. A $150 million opening for the path of water would nearly double the original film’s $77 million opening in 2009. Box office analysts have also noted that the Avatar The sequel is not expected to have an extremely loaded opening up front like other fan titles (i.e. superhero movies), but rather it will have some serious legs at the box office.

Set over a decade later Avatar, the upcoming sequel follows Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) as they navigate the turbulent alien planet of Pandora while raising their five children. In addition to Worthington and Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao and Matt Gerald reprise their roles from the original film. Sigourney Weaver, who originally appeared in the first film as Dr. Grace Augustine, also returned to the path of water but in a new role. She will play Kiri, the adopted teenage daughter of Jake and Neytiri, in both the path of water and future sequels. New cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Brendan Cowell.

Avatar: The Path of Water opens in theaters on December 16.
