Hexworks, the development studio behind the popular game Lords of the Fallen, is on a mission to improve the gaming experience on all platforms. In short order, they released two vital patches: v.1.1.196 aimed at Xbox, PS5, and Epic, and v.1.1.199 primarily for PCs with AMD GPUs.

Update v.1.1.199 PC-Steam Highlights: (see full patch notes)

  • AMD GPU crashes: Gamers with AMD graphics cards can expect stability. The update handles Niagara compute shader shipments to prevent hardware overload, potentially fixing over 30% of bugs reported through Sentry.
  • Multiplayer matchmaking: Gone are the days of endless “can’t connect” errors and frustrating high-ping clashes. Although pairing may take a little longer, the result promises stable sessions and better ping times.
  • Orian Protector Reviews: Hexworks has temporarily disabled the Orian Protector feature, which is often mistaken for a bug, in order to improve clarity and functionality.
  • The return of crossplay: Previously stopped, crossplay is on Hexworks’ radar for reintroduction, ensuring stable PvP and PvE experiences.
  • Game improvements: This patch sheds light on game balance, animations, and bug fixes. It also aims to renew the efficiency of items and spells, enriching the combat dynamics.

Update v.1.1.196 for Xbox, PS5 and Epic: (see full patch notes)

  • Stability measures: Various crash scenarios have been resolved, often tied to specific items, enemy AI, and particle generation.
  • AI and gameplay adjustments: From adjusting the aiming of so-called “snipers” to fixing bugs related to attack mechanics, the patch ensures an optimized gaming experience for console players.
  • Search and balance: Modifications to quest requirements, item sales, and damage adjustments are some examples of improvements.
  • Noticeably absent: Unlike the PC patch v.1.1.199, this update lacks specific fixes. Console players may have to wait a little longer to experience adjustments like shortened Sanguinarix and stamina recovery animations.

The two patches demonstrate Hexworks’ commitment to perfecting the game. With Lords of the Fallen receiving continued support, the future of the gaming community looks bright.

As always, the studio welcomes player feedback through the in-game Sentry Reporting Tool, bridging that relationship between the developers and the gaming community.
