Power Girl stars on the cover of action comics #1051, which is set to kick off the year-long Dawn of DC event.
dc announced action comics #1051 kicks off a year-long event called Dawn of DC, which follows the events of dark crisis on infinite earths Y planet lazarus. Variant cover art by David Nakayama and Sergio Dávila for action comics #1051 highlights Power Girl and her role in an upcoming DC story. Power Girl will also star in planet lazarusthus returning the character, which was created by Gerry Conway and Ric Estrada and first appeared in 1976. star comics #58 – to DC’s A-list after being largely absent from the publisher’s continuity in recent years.
At New York Comic Con, DC announced action comics #1051 would begin offering fans three separate stories in each issue. The synopsis reads: “After the events of the bombing of action comics #1050, the world’s relationship with Superman is changed forever, the upper limits of his supercharged powers have yet to be reached, and the House of El’s transformation of Metropolis, led by Steel, has begun. But Lex Luthor has found the perfect instrument with which to undo everything Superman is trying to accomplish: Metallo, whose hatred of Superman is matched only by his hatred of Luthor himself.”
Power Girl heads to the planet Lazarus
DC previously announced that Power Girl will join Poison Ivy, Batman, Cyborg, Damian Wayne and more heroes to try to save the world in Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1, which opens on January 10, 2023. Written by Mark Waid and Gene Luen Yang with art by Riccardo Federici, Billy Tan, and more, the synopsis reads: “After the explosive (literally) events of Batman vs. Robin #4, The Lazarus Volcano Has Erupted, Spewing Dangerous And Transformative Chemicals Into Earth’s Atmosphere!As these Lazarus Clouds rain down on the planet, people around the world begin to develop strange new abilities, watch his already extraordinary abilities change, and witness a great deal of chaos.Unlike anything the DCU has experienced before, it’s up to Damian Wayne to issue the distress call to anyone who can still hear it: come to the ruins! of the Hall of Justice and help save the world! Power Girl is also mentioned in the application text for Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton #1, to be released on January 17, 2023, from writers Nicole Maines, CS Pacat, Frank Barbiere, and Leah Williams and artists Skylar Patridge, Scott Godlewski, Sami Basri, and Marguerite Sauvage.
