In game of Thrones, is known as the Three-Eyed Raven and his backstory is not detailed. In A song of ice and firehe is the Three-Eyed Raven, whose true identity is a figure of infamy.
The Three-Eyed Raven is Brynden Rivers, a long-dead Targaryen bastard known as Blood Raven. He is famous for using his warning to control any dissent during his time as Hand of the King and Master of Whispers, spying on the lords like animals. After his exile to the Night’s Watch, he disappears beyond the Wall and becomes a powerful Green Seer.
9/10 The probable child murder of Cersei Lannister
Cersei Lannister is one of the cruelest characters in either version of the story. In both game of Thrones Y A song of ice and fireThe characters suggest that this cruelty goes back to his childhood. Nevertheless, game of Thrones omits a horrible act that he probably committed in his youth.
Both stories show Cersei Lannister and her friend visiting the fortune teller Maggy the Frog. After Maggy predicts Cersei’s undoing, she predicts an earlier death for Cersei’s friend, Melara Heatherspoon. Cersei then remembers hearing Melara’s screams as she drowns in a well and hallucinates Melara’s eyes judging her. It is never confirmed, but it is suggested that Cersei drowned her friend when she was a child.
8/10 The Maesters’ Plot to Rid the World of Magic
The Masters of the Citadel are a constant presence in both game of Thrones Y A song of ice and fire. They are present from Dorne to the Wall, aiding and advising lords across Westeros. Many lords accept them, but others suspect they have their own agenda. These last gentlemen are right, although their secret has nothing to do with political dynasties.
A feast for crows suggests that the Masters are trying to rid the world of magic. They do not like magical arts and try to suppress any knowledge about them. Archmaester Marwyn even suggests that the Maesters were involved in the death of the Targaryen dragons. There is no indication of this in game of Thronesapart from the restrictive thinking of certain Masters.
7/10 Mance Rayder infiltration of Winterfell
Mance Rayder, the King-Beyond-the-Wall, propels the story of Night’s Watch into three novels and four seasons of game of Thrones. The first confirmed appearance of him is when Jon Snow pretends to defect to the wildlings. In A song of ice and firehowever, it suggests that it appeared much earlier.
Mance Rayder tells Jon that he was present when King Robert Baratheon visited Winterfell. He scaled the Wall and secretly posed as a musician so he could see the other king. game of Thrones it doesn’t show Rayder present at the event, and he never has this conversation with Jon on the show.
6/10 Jaime Lannister’s lies about Tyrion’s first wife
Tyrion Lannister becomes a bitter and cynical person in both continuities because of the same event. In his youth, he marries Tysha, a girl he and his brother Jaime Lannister save. After a brief period of happiness, Tywin’s father reveals that Tysha is a sex worker hired by Jaime as a gift to Tyrion. He then brutalizes Tysha and throws her out of Casterley Rock.
However, there is a big reveal about this event in A song of ice and fire. While saving Tyrion from execution, Jaime reveals that Tysha wasn’t actually a sex worker. She was what she seemed, and Tywin and Jaime lied. This conversation never occurs on the show.
5/10 Joffrey Baratheon’s attempt on Bran’s life
Season 1 and the novel. a game of thrones focus on the aftermath of an attempt on the life of Bran Stark. At the beginning of the story, a murderer sneaks into his room and tries to kill him while he is in a coma. This causes conflict between Houses Stark, Tully, and Lannister, and helps spark the War of the Five Kings.
However, the person ordering the attack remains anonymous for much longer. In game of Thrones, Bran Stark finally rules out Littlefinger as the culprit. In the novel, it is revealed that Joffrey Baratheon is actually behind it. It’s not much of a conspiracy: he overhears Robert saying that Bran would be better off dead and tries to impress his father.
4/10 Hoster Tully’s interference in Lysa Arryn’s affairs
Lysa Arryn is the sister of Catelyn Stark and the daughter of Hoster Tully, but is estranged from both. game of Thrones he attributes this estrangement to his own actions, such as his affair with Littlefinger. However the A song of ice and fire novel a storm of swords delves into the matter.
Lysa’s estrangement from her family is due to her father Hoster. After Lysa Arryn spends the night with Littlefinger, Hoster forces her to drink an herb that induces an abortion. This traumatizes Lysa and damages her health.
3/10 The eternal loyalty of the Manderlys to the Starks
The Red Wedding ends the further involvement of the North in the war for a time in both game of Thrones Y A song of ice and fire. Robb Stark’s death puts an end to his independence movement and the Boltons take control as Lannister allies. In A song of ice and fireHowever, the North is much less happy to swallow its defeat.
Many northern houses side with other leaders, such as Stannis Baratheon. The most notable is House Manderly, especially its leader Wyman. They secretly plot to return Rickon Stark to Winterfell and quite possibly murder three Freys in retaliation. In game of ThronesHouse Manderly does not endorse the Starks, though they are one of the first to proclaim Jon Snow King in the North.
2/10 The horn of winter’s existence
game of Thrones it has dragon eggs, Valyrian steel swords, and plenty of other artifacts for viewers to follow. A song of ice and fire add one more to the mix in the shape of the Horn of Winter. It is a legendary magic horn in the north, which is said to be able to awaken giants and tear down the Wall.
The savages claim to have the horn, but theirs is likely a fake. Instead, the Horn of Winter remains at large and may present a threat in later books. game of Thrones he never mentions the Horn of Winter. It is not clear if it does not exist or if the program simply chooses to ignore its presence.
1/10 Cersei Lannister’s love for Rhaegar Targaryen
Complex Cersei Lannister marries Robert Baratheon, but before that, there are plans to pair her with another royal. During much of her childhood, her father Tywin Lannister attempts to marry her off to Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. It is more than a useful political party. Cersei also forms a deep longing for Rhaegar that borders on love.
This is one of the many factors causing tension in Cersei and Robert’s marriage. Cersei resents Robert for killing Rhaegar in battle. game of Thrones he has a similar level of resentment and unhappiness between the two of them, but that particular reason is left out.
